It's now called the Hertford Bell and it is one of the best pubs in Hertford believe me beautifully decorated and refurbished it is brilliant and the barman and manager are excellent you must experience it you will love it

A nice friendly atmosphere. We visited on a Saturday night, the music was not too loud, unlike some other bars in the area, there is a good selection of gin and the customers and staff seemed friendly and welcoming

Lovely atmosphere with great ales. Do lots in the evenings for good fun night out. Great food all day also.

Came here for a Sunday roast as I’d been told it was really good. It was even better than expected! Nice big portions and food was fresh and tasty. The staff were also very pleasant and polite. Will be back next week

Food was good but was a bit slow in getting to our table. Two of the people in our group ordered last and got their food first. We understand it was a new chef. Perhaps he will improve with time

Brilliant band (lost cause)...hope to see them again, got me dancing and singing along, one of the best ive heard. Staff excelled once again and the Christmas dinner was delicious, the pigs in blankets where massive! If you haven't had one yet I recommend booking your Christmas meal here. Credit to all staff tonight (Chefs, Candice, & James), worked really hard on a very busy night.

One of my favourite pubs in Hertford. Slight issue recently trying to get cold bottled lager here as always warm for some reason! Good pub though with a fantastic beer garden.

Always a good atmosphere. Bar service during town events (making it very busy) leave much to be desired - nearly 50 minutes to get served during the Hertford music festival. Otherwise a great friendly place.

Great pub for either a casual lunch/dinner or even a more formal meal. Big beer garden and lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. Cheap weekday lunch deal but the sign is also kept outside on a saturday so dont be tricked by that like we were. Dogs are welcome with dog treats behind the bar :-) 241 cocktails from 7pm on some days which works well in conjunction with next doors in the Snug as their 241 deal ends at 7! Overall a great pub and atmosphere!

A different mix and max of old and young locals and visitors
Some good bands on every few weeks plus a skool disco dj sometimes
