Recently refurnished rooms ,to high standard.There are 2 dog friendly rooms and 2 standard rooms.The pub side of business comprises of a bar and snug with original features and dates from late 1800s.The food is excellent and atmosphere top rate supplied by the landlord and Landlady Gary and Simone.T
Stayed here for 1 night. Room was fab, so spacious and the bed super comfy. The breakfast was amazing...cereals and cooked. Lovely friendly staff. Would definitely return. We booked all 4 rooms for an annual couples get together and from the moment we arrived the service was excellent. Terrific little pub. Nice selection of local beers and lovely home-cooked pub grub at great value. Couldn’t resist a sausage roll for later although not sure how will fit it in after the gammon, chips and 2 eggs!
What a find. Was just walking about and stumbled upon it. I saw the signs stating craft beer and ales on the pubs exterior walls so ventured in. So glad I did, very welcoming, a lovely space with plenty hand pulls to choose from. Went back every night of my stay in Hexham.
This is a quaint little pub, with a lovely atmosphere and good, friendly service. We sat for a few hours drinking and clientelle were chatty and amiable, as were the staff. Really enjoyed.the.visit
Good atmosphere, cheery staff. Ladies loos let it down, a wee bit bleach on the black mold would go a long way. Wouldn't stop us coming back. If there was a 4.5 instead of a 4 it would get the half mark from us.
Really enjoyed the revamp of this place and the new owners are lovely with a huge amount of knowledge on what they serve and a passion for thier ales and thier customers. A homely environment with a warm welcome, a great selection of ale and lovely friendly atmosphere. Worth a visit
If you love real ale, do not let this place pass you by!! Amazing! Their ale is the most loved and best cared for in England. Outstanding!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Victorian Tap. The owners were super friendly, rooms very clean and well laid out. Two of the four rooms are dog friendly along with the pub ( I love dogs!). Full English breakfast served which was delicious. The town itself is charming.

Stayed, drank and had breakfast here. It’s a lovely pub, staff are very friendly, there is a great selection of ales on and this is clearly a passion, as they’re all very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.

I love this pub, great local and great range of beers and friendly staff...sad to see one leave to get extra hours as a waitress as she was so much fun, but Gareth is friendly and knows his beers.
