Wow just wow what a great find!
Stopped for a quick coffee on route to the parents but after reading the menu we couldn't help ourselves, we had to try the goods. We ended up having the most amazing lunch and the options were thoughtful and original. We are both vegetarian but I also have a gluten issue, and for the first time eating out wasn't an issue. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful and even our dog got given a sausage and a bowl of fresh water. Well done cliffhanger for offering something different compared to every other cafe/restaurant in the area, can't wait to shout your praises to family and friends. We will see you again on our next visit down from Winchester. Many thanks Nyk & Claire.
After a long drive, we arrived for breakfast,
Lovely view, lovely food and lovely staff, highly recommend
What a lovely place. We were made to feel very welcome as if we were old friends. The food was awesome too, a small menu it may be, but it was deliciously different and the desserts were amazing too, we recommend this little gem to anyone. I'm sure we will be back next time we are in Dorset
Lunchtime at the cliffhanger was a great experience for 4 . Food was tasty & good size portions. Staff friendly on arrival & at service .
Had a lovely lunch here after a trip to the beach. Between us we had veggie sausages, chips and beans from the children's menu, a ciabatta, chips, latte, hot chocolate, Dorset apple cake, millionaire's shortbread and the warm chocolate brownie dessert. All very tasty. Friendly staff member (we think Amanda) served us with a smile throughout.
Great breakfast with a great view, would strongly recommend! Had a wonderful breakfast here, staff were very attentive and friendly, with great food and lovely coffee! I went for the Edge Pancakes which were one of the best I’ve had in a while, food was hot just as it should be, egg was cooked perfectly. Nice to sit in the bay window on a windy day watching the world go by. Nice decor inside, comfortable seating. Would advise booking or arriving first thing as this does get a little busy. Overall 5 stars all round!
Extraordinary views of the sea while enjoying wonderful fare. For us the classic fish and chips with a nicely chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio.
Very nice place, amazing views, but the public toilet is very gross, smells very bad, dirty and no water in the sink. Highly disappointed 😞
A small restaurant on top of the hills. The portions of the food are super great. The location and atmosphere depends on the day you visit, for us it was the usual beautiful gloominess.
Drawbacks are that there are many wasps 🐝 on the hunt for food. Given that this is one of the only restaurant here, expect some guests at your table.
Have been to the Cliffhanger a few times now and it never disappoints, I love looking out the window at the sea (even if its wet and windy out there) The staff are very friendly and the food is always very fresh and tasty and the coffee is also good!
We visited this hidden gem of a restaurant 3 times during our recent stay in Dorset, once for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The setting is just amazing; for breakfast we sat out on the terrace and were treated to lovely sunshine and stunning panoramic sea views. The food and drink on each occasion was fresh, tasty and well presented and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We can't wait to come back on our next trip to Dorset which will hopefully be very soon. Special mention to Rosie and Martin who were extremely accommodating and made us feel like VIPs as they seem to do with all their valued customers. Would highly recommend if you you are either holidaying, a resident or just passing through!
Had a lovely evening at the cliffhanger last night for the Freddie Mercury. We had a table of 6 and it was the perfect location. Food was amazing! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Really fun evening!
