We booked a room for 2 nights in the White Hart as well as diner on the first night. The staff were lovely and very helpful as soon as we got there. The room was tastefully decorated, comfortable, with all necessary amenities and even more if we needed - we just had to ask at the bar. Breakfast and complimentary cream tea were included and both were incredible; the breakfast menu was extremely generous (and tasty)!
Diner on the first evening was also very satisfying, with a varied menu and very good quality food.
We would not hesitate to come back and recommend it.

My partner and I decided to stay here as a little treat for ourselves over half term. As a queer couple, sometimes we feel a little wary travelling together. SO GLAD we stayed here! We felt totally welcomed by the staff and the other patrons/locals. Everything from the beautiful bedrooms to the delicious food (complimentary cream tea!!!) was utterly delightful. Special shout out to Sam who checked us in and took care of us during dinner- nothing was too much trouble and he was really friendly and chatty. He even got me the recipe from the chef for the beetroot relish! The bedrooms were extremely well furnished. Bedding was high quality and very comfortable. Most impressive was the large roll top bath- perfect place to enjoy two kinds of bubbles; one in the tub and one in a glass! Bathroom was extremely spacious with a walk in shower, heated towel rain and two basins. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were some really nice complimentary touches including luxurious robes/towels and some tasty treats! Great value for money - We’re already debating when we’ll have an excuse to return!
P.s. If you’re having the brownie, pair it with a chocolate martini. You won’t regret it.

Huge and filling portion with a nice nut roast, plenty of veg and most importantly, enough gravy 😊 We ordered some extra red cabbage and it was well seasoned and delicious!
Lovely meal with my family. Food is excellent. Service is fantastic. Beautiful setting. Very welcoming. We will definitely be back.
We eat here often, food still a good quality and menu has good choices for vegetarian and vegans as well as omnivores.
But portion sizes seem to be shrinking (in common with many places at the moment)...a small handful of salad on the plate would've been nice with our burger and bean enchiladas.
This is never a place that is quick which is fine as most food is freshly prepared.... but this time our puddings took about 40 minutes to arrive and whilst very tasty, one had definitely been reheated unevenly in a microwave, so unsure why it took so long.
We were seated in the bar area on Monday which is normally fine, but this time was less relaxing due to two very loud people standing at the bar. The side room and upstairs are a better bet if you want a quieter atmosphere.
Fantastic quality food served by friendly, attentive staff. Had a celebratory meal with a group of 8. Everyone's starter/main course/pudding was absolutely spot on.
We enjoyed a nice 50th birthday get together, food and service was great and we were made to feel very welcome

Stayed over for work and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Gorgeous room with generous toiletries and lots of other delightful touches, from the fabulous freestanding bath to the bone china tea cups. Super comfortable bed, too. Staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Meal in the evening was beautifully presented and very tasty. Only disappointing thing was breakfast the next morning, billed as a ‘light’ breakfast fry-up but appearing to have been either deep fried or reheated, which was somewhat at odds with the otherwise excellent standard of everything.
Very very good ....do eat restaurant not bar but same menu.V good food and staff lovely...went 2 years ago and was average but really good now
