Great little pub stopped for Sunday roast beef good portions and all homemade good beer garden and good selection of ciders. Friendly and welcoming staff....recommended
Hidden away beside a Roman road near Ilminster, the Dinnington Docks is a genuine Somerset gem of a pub. It has the added attraction of hosting the Classic Car night on the first Wednesday of each month. Hard to find but worth the effort, the Docks has good grub and great atmosphere.
A lunchtime meal with close friends. So ... you arrive to a traditional country pub... nothing glam but clean and a country pub warm welcome. The service was professional.. attentive but not intrusive. Now! Let's talk about food! .. simply superb 👌 in truth not what we were perhaps expecting of a "pub" .. so forget snobbery.. pubs are good places but rarely offer the cuisine afforded here! ... an interesting and varied menu..more than reasonably priced....if you get to and have room for dessert ! the basil and lime cheesecake is simply Amazing ! Congratulations Chef... ! Will be back and thank you all for a truly memorable occasion. 😊
Went to The Dinnington Docks for an impromptu lunch on Saturday (a dog friendly pub). I would recommend booking :-) It was great. All four meals where very tasty and well presented, the staff friendly and helpful. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas. Be prepared to squeeze down some narrow roads to get there. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A lovely unspoilt country pub with 4 really excellent real Ales and room for another. Traditional pub menu and well priced. Lovely beer garden too. As a Railway person I was completely taken in by the 'local railway' theme. Made to feel welcome by friendly staff, so will be back. Tganks
Superb mussels... and I mean SUPERB.
Service was not great TBH (waiter didn't clear our table before delivering mains!), but the quality of food made up for it....
Also, a good range of beers and ciders on offer... Will be back to try a steak sometime!!!
A group of us visited Dinnington Docks. Fab pub with large beer garden. Service was average, because there wasn’t enough staff. However, the staff we did manage to speak to were trying their best to serve us. Due to lack of staff we also gave up on the idea of ordering food, having drinks only instead.
In summary, if this pub could get more staff it would be a great place to visit and I would give 5 stars. However, for now it gets 3 stars.
A lovely pub, in a quiet Somerset lane yet very popular. It's not hard to see why: great real ales and a thriving pub grub business, plus a great all-weather garden and excellent parking facilities. It's one of my favourite places in the Wessex region.
Lovely pub off a single track road, the garden seating is very nice with great view, inside also. Had meal which was freshly made, small menu but may have been so because car meet there that night. Worth a visut
Have been privately critical of the docks the last couple times I've visited but today was one of the best pub experiences I've had. Only went for a quick beer, but the barman (not sure if he was the landlord) couldn't have been more attentive and friendly! Only went because the LP was closed but will be back again for sure!
Homely pub tucked away in beautiful Dinnington. Excellent food followed by excellent service. Can’t fault this place - chicken was cooked to perfection and oyster mushroom starter was delightful.
Beautiful pub/restaurant. Good food but not the best. Lovely staff friendly environment
