This is the best pub in Hitchin. Fantastic dj’s who are not trying to ruin a good tune by messing around with too many effects etc they get the vibe. The staff are always excellent and security kind and friendly. …

We absolutely love it! they serve the best Sunday roasts also very dog friendly! The George is a little home away from home that serves beer!
Kicked out at half 12 because one bouncer saw my girlfriend close her eyes for a few seconds on the sofa upstairs. This left her in tears. Bear in mind the george is normally open untill 3 on a Friday. Absolutely awful from the staff and there was no remorse. Terrible experience.
My husband and I popped in for one drink as the exterior looked so inviting. Inside it was delightful with an amazing fireplace. The ceiling was beamed and dated from 1600's. The staff were so friendly & informative about the area. Definitely worth a visit. No rating given for food as food not served.
