I used to go to this pub when my kids were young - very grotty and terrible food. My son is now 22 - the pub is wonderful, the garden spectacular - and the food was delicious. So refreshing to have a sophisticated menu - not the usual burger, fish & chips, sausages & mash, pie of the day menu EVERY pub in the area serves up these days. A breath of fresh air - will be back very soon!!

Excellent service from welcome to dining. The quality of the food is way above your average pub food and as stated by someone else it is a restaurant quality but in a pub setting. I have also been just for drinks and we had the same welcome hence coming back to sample the food (even with a dog and 4 year old!). The refurbishment has been well thought through and with the doors opening over the garden you get the outside inside feeling even if the English weather is not playing ball! Keep up the good work of balancing a pub that you can have a drink in and a destination to go to for excellent food.

Fabulous lunch, served by super friendly staff. I had the chicken and leek pie, which had very tender chicken in a delicious shortcrust pastry, topped off by a tasty gravy and smooth mashed potato.

A little hidden gem of a pub with rooms. Beautifully situated, pub with rooms. Lovely cosy room ,comfy bed and ensuite, with fab shower room.We had a tasty relaxing dinner and breakfast. We later had a lunchtime drink in the beautiful garden. The staff and Owner were friendly and so helpful . Walking available, straight from the door too. We will definitely go back .

Dropped by yesterday having seen the new ad in Vantage Point. A thunder storm meant the power was off in the village, but we were warmly received by the staff, and thankfully the beer hand-pump was still working! The refurbishment is really terrific and comprehensive, and we were both surprised and very impressed indeed. The place is an absolute treat throughout now, and the garden lovely. I suspect it will become a regular haunt, and we hope to be back soon to sample the food. Well done to all!

This is 70% restaurant, 30% pub. It's fine to drop in for a pint and we've done that many times, but they're really looking for guests to sit down and eat. That said, you won't be disappointed. The food was exceptional, the prices very reasonable and the service was spot on. The garden is really great for summer drinking & snacking too. The only thing letting it down is the internal decor. It's not awful, it just hasn't quite nailed it. But it could be fixed somewhat by having softer lighting. Longer term I'd like to see some alternative wall paint and furniture but these are just small irritants to an otherwise good experience. It's plugging a much needed gap in the area for cuisine that is just a step up for when you want more than pub grub.

Lovely location, brilliant room, great breakfast made a perfect stay Everything was excellent. Tucked away peaceful location, pretty views from windows, friendly, helpful staff, Room 2 was perfect for a family with adjoining bedrooms, clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent pastries and lovely bread and local jams, fresh fruit and good latte (Bar closes 6pm on Sunday evening. Staff were very helpful and found us somewhere still serving food - Gomshall Mill - food was good.)

Absolutely amazing place to stay, eat or drink. Hotel rooms are finished in details and well equipped. The host and the team is very friendly happy to help and going extra mile for personal touch ahead of any other hotels or large chains, makes you feel like at home. I will be definitely coming back.
