Ots not too bad, it isn't the best but it's certainly not the worst. Aberystwyth pier is still top of my list.

My second time eating Cod and Chips from Hook Fish and Chips whilst visiting my parents in Basingstoke.
Visited on the 16/09/22 to get fish and chips for dinner. Parking available close by which is handy.
Quite busy tonight but service very good from very friendly staff.
Cod really good size even for small Cod. Good portions of chips too.
Quite nice food although the batter isn't the best I've had. Not particularly chrispy and not very light and fluffy. The cod itself is good though. Not greasy at all but taste is somewhat bland overall.
Being from Cornwall I know my Fish and Chips. The saveloys looked good though 👍
Would still recommend as it's not bad , just not the best.
An overall rating of 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Chicken fillet burger and chips was spot on.....service only get a 3 star.....because the woman had a face on like I'd just walked in and punched her kids 🤷🤷

Not a lot of people know this but if you like a donnor kebab try one from here. I love a good kebab and while the kebabs may not be big city standard, it is one of the better options in the area.

Haven't been home for a while and fancied fish and chips. Went to one more local and really disliked it. So decided to visit my old place shop and wow it was amazing. The chips were fresh and cod as fresh and the portion sizes were good. Definately on par to when we ran it.

Large portions, good value for money but it might be nice for the people serving to smile occasionally. Maybe a good idea to phone ahead with your order , as we had to wait outside while it was being cooked and it was raining. Really enjoyed our fish n chips tho, thank you.

First time i went to this place was last week, the staff were very friendly, i was short of change significantly and the guy happily porceeded with making me a large generous portion of chips and beautiful fish! Highly recommend it!

Great chips in huge portions. A large chips feeds three of us! Parking behind the shop is useful although inconsiderate customers often park alongside the shop making access difficult.
