Pret A Manger

Fire alarm went off as we’d just paid but not got our drinks. Evacuated the departure s in North terminal along with a few thousand others. Really surprised when Matel who had served us found us in the crowd with our two drinks. Fantastic customer service and a massive thank you to him for going beyond the level of service you’d expect. If the manager at the North Terminal Pret reads this then please pass on our gratitude to him.

While I’m sure the flat white coffee I normally get is lovely, today I got a Pret, freshly handmade New York, rye roll, that has crunchy onions, pickled purple cabbage, salted beef, and greens on a flavorful rye bread roll with a spicy, but balanced, horseradish-lime and avocado spread. I also paired it with a Pret Ginger Beer to help balance the gut after the trip with fish and chips earlier in the day. I like that the restaurants here and Gatwick airport do not overcharge with their prices. They feel fair prices.

Good standard Pret. Food is always fresh and consistent quality. Service here is usually quick and efficient which is good as this Pret is always very busy with long queues. Today we bought an egg/bacon baguette, Brie and tomato baguette. Prosciutto baguette and Salmon & dill rye roll. All were generously filled and fresh. Followed it with a chocolate and almond cookie - these are delicious. Love the traditional Brie and tomato baguettes but noticed I can only get these now at airport Pret’s (not sure why and been there same for 2 years). Served by new member of staff who was clearly working as hard and quick as she could and very friendly. Fair amount of seating which is mainly outside the shop and opposite it.

Good products, very nice veggie options however very expensive snacks. Nearly 2£ just a small chocolate bar, the same as everything in the airport. Anyway, the staff was so helpfully and lovely, I wouldn't mind to repeat there. I recommend duck salad wrap, it was delicious!! Watch out! It's a little bit more expensive if you sit in there.
