We love their Ginger Chicken over fried rice!! It’s seasoned just right in a yummy sauce with sautéed Bell Peppers. It’s flavorful and has a good balance!! The portions are generous, so the price is well worth it. I can make 2-2.5 meals out of it!!!

First time here for lunch and the food was excellent. I ordered the general.TSO’s Chicken and it came with rice, green beans and egg roll and soup. Pricing was on point and the sauce was very tasty with the entrée. I’ve been to lots of these types of restaurants and I don’t care for the sauce. This had good flavor. I also tasted the orange chicken , very good as well.

Had diet chicken with mixed vegetables & concocted my own sauce by mixing their chili/ plum/ garlic sauces together. You can tell the protein & veggies are fresh and clean. Great place to eat healthier Chinese food

I’ve been coming here for years. Best homemade Chinese food in Houston. The food is always fresh, and NO MSG.:-) You will never feel bloated, and weighed down. The place is not fancy, but the food and people are amazing.

The place was impeccable and very clean. And you could smell the freshness of the food as you walked in. The place was very sanitary. Our accountant, who is a regular there, took us out for dinner. The food was delicious! However, the person who served us was very distracted and appeared to be disoriented. She took our order incorrectly and brought he wrong dish to the two men in my table. I asked her if I could have a slice of cheesecake ( since it is listed on the menu), and she said they don't serve that. Our accountant asked the man behind the counter to check if they had cheesecake, and it turned out that yes, they did have it. I do not know if the lady that was serving us was feeling unwell, but her service left much to be desired. I can't distinguish if there was a language barrier or if she was being careless. She was being very sloppy, especially to a very important customer who goes there multiple times a week and who expects excellence. He was clearly disappointed, but he also recognized that perhaps she was a new employee. So, for the above reasons, I was unable to give 5 stars. Also, the restaurant was almost empty and it took almost an hour to have dinner out. On a busy day this could be expected. On a Sunday night with only two tables occupied, makes me wonder why it took so long. Still... It was worth the wait.

Had the kung pao chicken and stir fried string beans with pork. Kung Pao dish was pretty large and done right - mostly chicken, peanuts, and very very small amount of onions - not gravy saucy either, just a little. They could have put more peanuts. Request to make it extra spicy was ignored. Tasted very good. String beans were equally tasty with tender pork. The beans could have used a little more char time in the wok. Fixed it by doing it myself. I suspect with the large quantity of rice that came with it, two people could get two meals each out of the two dishes 🤣. Overall good.

I was searching for a nice sit down Chinese restaurant since my last favorite place closed down recently. I came across Red Pepper and decided to give it a go since I was in the area, I'm sure glad I did! This place has to be the best Chinese food I've ever had, seriously. We ordered the General Tsos chicken and Orange chicken to split with each other, there was so much food we couldn't finish it all! The chicken is extremely fresh, cooked and breaded to perfection and the sauces are mind-blowing! I saw they also had some spinach dumplings on the menu, something I've never come across before so I decided to give them a go. They were nice to try, but I don't think I'd order them again since they just weren't my thing. The drinks come out in these large cups, something the owners son was telling us about how alot of the people that go to a gym close by would come in and drink a ton at a time so they wound up giving everyone these excessively large containers to drink out of since especially during the Houston heat waves would be a godsend. The tea was freshly brewed by the way, great taste. The owners son was talking to us quite a bit about the history of the restaurant and some of the dishes since it was a bit slow when we went which it was nice to get to know the local business owners as I tend to stray away from corporate chain restaurants. The absolute only reason I'm dropping a star, wishing I could just ding them half a star, is the decorations of the dining area. It mostly looks inside like a hip dining area for old people in the 80's with a mirror that takes up a whole wall. I don't shy away from looking myself in the mirror every morning but I don't really want to watch myself eat or watch my own every move and facial expression while I'm out for a good meal. That being said, it's extremely clean, the food is excellent and I can't wait for my next visit to Red Pepper!
