Gyro King

I just pulled in because they were open, I like gyros, and It was soon to be too late to get anything but fast food, and I was really hungry. I bought two lamb gyros and some rice. Everything looked a bit more "Indian" than I'm used to for a "Mediterranean" place. Meaning they had basmati rice that smelled a bit like curry, and some things were just a little different. Like, the white sauce seemed to just be ranch, instead of tzatziki, but it was good. The hot sauce I could SWEAR is just the extra hot Louisiana hot sauce you can buy from the store, but yeah that's good too, just not really what I expect at a Gyro place. The meat I will say did taste more like beef than lamb, but it was tasty. I mean everything was good, it was just not like any other place I'd been to for Gyros. Like I expect long sllivers of red onion, and you get little diced pieces of yellow or white here. It also wasn't shavings of gyro off a spit, It was good, but it wasn't what I think of when I think of gyros. I was disappointed, but not by much, because I like the gyros I'm used to more, but this was still very good. Also It was very clean, and the people who worked there were fine. The prices weren't excitingly cheap, but not annoyingly high either. I will probably come back to try another dish, but just know that if you're used to Niko Niko's or something like that this is a different kinda gyro.

Came to gyro king for the second time and I am always satisfied. The juice with apple, carrot, orange with delicious. I get the lamb gyro sandwich with everything on it and it’s amazing. Shout to Ms. Thami and Mr Hamid for helping me pick off the menu. Everything is made fresh to go. Will be coming back again

We come here a lot and the combo platter with extra sauce is delicious. Tried the combo gyro last night and it was delicious as well. It’s not the best of the best but for the price the portions and everything is very fair. We always end up with leftovers. I always forget to take a picture cause we’re so excited to eat here lol

WOW. My friend and I had two gyros delivered last night and from the first bite, we were raving about how good it was! We are both writing reviews because it was worth 10 stars. I got the combo gyro with the giardiniera. The taste, spice, texture, and freshness were excellent - impressive considering we ordered after 11pm. The amount of food was perfect. I was too busy stuffing my face to take a picture, but clearly I was doing well. Satisfaction 10/10

Gyro King is my favorite place when it comes to eating gyro over rice. I ordered the Gyro and Chicken over rice. I usually ask for salad and sauce on the side so I can easily warm it up at home. The taste is always consistent. The decor and ambiance is very modern. I have been to all of their locations in Houston and they all have same great taste. The meat is always juicy and delicious topped over aromatic Basmati Rice. Great selection of Salad Toppings to choose from. I usually get everything on It. The White and Red Sauces taste amazing and indeed tantalize the taste buds. If you are around Jones and 1960 area this is a must try. Will definitely visit again to devour the deliciousness.

I’m a gyro king fan but this location has to be my favorite! Everyone is incredibly nice & patient. They had my order wrong by giving me a gyro instead of the lamb over rice & they remade the order & let me keep the gyro also. The food was delicious! You can never go wrong with lamb over rice. The location was also cozy, neat, & bright.
