Beautiful space and friendly staff. Food and portion sizes were perfect! I had the 3 meats roast and it didn’t disappoint!

Maybe I’ve been unlucky, but I find there are very few Sunday roasts you have in a pub that compare to one you make at home (unless you’re a terrible cook). The roasts at The Connaught, however, are incredible- we had lamb shanks and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth falling off the bone. Plus pigs in blankets made with full size sausages (my Nan would call these “elephants in duvets”), in a rich gravy- absolute heaven. Top it off with great pints in a beautiful beer garden, and there aren’t many better ways to spend a Sunday. Just be careful the seagulls don’t get your Yorkshires.

This is my favourite place to meet friends in this area. Great pub, easy to get to. The food is fantastic and well priced, there's a great range of wines and beers. Clean loos and a really pretty garden with snugs and tables And EVERY time I come the staff are totally lovely and helpful! And PIE THURSDAYS! Very highly recommended 💜💙

First visit to The Connaught and found the beer garden to be a lovely sun trap. Not too loud or busy either in bank holiday! The pub is modern and clean but maintains the character of a pub from a bygone era. Drinks ok, couple of lagers, pale ales etc and an ok gin list but not overly exciting. Looks like a nice place to eat but we didn’t on this occasion.

I visited the Connaught this evening with a cousin - who I’d not seen for about 5 years - while she was in town. I wanted to go somewhere nice but not too pricey. The Connaught delivered above and beyond! The service was perfect: not too intrusive, yet sufficiently tentative. The food was delicious. We all (table of 4) had something different, yet everything arrived at the same time, and perfectly presented, delicious, and hot! Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. For now, I can recommend the hake!

Louise and her team couldn’t have done more for us, today. Considering we only called this morning to book, they pulled the stops out to accommodate our group which included young children and a wheelchair user. They made my Nan’s 94th Birthday very special. We had a lovely table and enjoyed fantastic, home made food and enjoyed lovely staff - all of them were friendly, helpful and warm. Brilliant job. Many thanks.

Roast lunches are very popular and with good reason - I recommend the three meats. They have a nice garden out the back for the summer. Maybe a little overpriced.

Fantastic roast beef and even more amazing was the biscoff cheesecake well worth a visit but best to book a table as very popular. Staff made us feel welcome and not rushed. Look forward to visiting again soon😊.

My partner and I visited Brighton for the weekend and this pub was definitely the highlight! The pub is beautiful inside with a gorgeous garden which is perfect for dogs, who they are incredibly welcoming to, even giving my puppy several biscuits and taking the time to befriend him. The food was amazing with great service that delivered it quickly. We had a variety of things from ribs that deliciously came away from the bone, to beautiful nachos that had gorgeous crispy tortillas. Would definitely recommend to everyone and anyone in the area, and will be back next time I'm in the area.
