Took my mom there for breakfast it was fairly decent. I ordered English breakfast and it was done well. My mom's croissant and my girlfriend's avocado on toast were both enjoyable.

I have been meaning to review this place for ages as we have been a few times and always find it to be excellent. In particular we booked twenty or so a for a birthday brunch. We were offered the upstairs room and on the day the service was outstanding. I am extremely grateful to all the Valerie staff for making my fiancé 's birthday so successful. The room is lovely, comfortable and adaptable with a big window very light with high ceilings overlooking Western Road. It is kid friendly without being kiddy. Food was the level you'd expect simple but pretty good. Overall an understated gem with exceptional service (as long as they are not too busy). Well worth checking out for a coffee and cake or a beer and a light lunch. Always enjoyable. But booking upstairs for a breakfast bash was absolutely brilliant and it was the service that really made it. Highly recommend!

Fantastic breakfast, at a reasonable price. One of my top 3 breakfasts in Brighton! They also have an amazing selection of pastry and cakes.
