Very quiet for a drizzly Friday. So we were happy to have the place to ourselves. We enjoyed our meals and a bottle of wine. Very inexpensive and pretty tasty. We will often have their pizzas to takeaway.
What a treat SASSO provides, don't be fooled by the name - they've plenty other original and beautiful dishes, We had to have the full 3 courses!
Calamari was light and crispy, Mixed seafood pasta dish was finished in seconds and obviously the favourite.. The pizza! Being a pizza chef for 5 years prior I can say this scored 11/10.
PERFECTION
truly the best pizza in Brighton area, and perhaps in all the region. The dough is so light with a fragrant crust, the tomato sauce base is so well balanced and the toppings are prime quality (not from the tin). The price I think is too low for this quality standards. Highly recommended, it is a no-brainer!
In a street that doesn't need any more pizza, Sasso provides...more pizza. The product is a step above the Papa Johns and Food App (who still have their place if you are after 15" monsters and meal deals) and on a par with Colosseo across the road (who you would probably choose if you wanted a dignified sit-down meal with wine). They have shoehorned themselves into a niche that no-one knew was there and deservedly take a place on our local takeaway rotation.
Our boss buys us lunch sometimes and I'm so pleased that there is Sasso Pizza nearby, we live in Kemptown and like Wildflour pizza but they have less accessible hours and don't come this far away for delivery. We want to have a dine in experience at Sasso soon! Delicious dough, high quality ingredients unless you're a stuffed crust domino's type you'll love this!
Good fun. Went at lunch time in the hope to just get a slice (they only do full pizzas) but the menu was so interesting we ended up with a few different things. The deep fried Mac n cheese balls were so tasty. I did order something else but I was misheard but that's okay I'm happy with what I ended up with. Would go again. Keen to try the ham and smoked cheese pizza next 😋

Insanely tasty and well priced food, catered well for vegans too, I ordered a funghi pizza with vegan cheese!! At a reasonable price of £9.50.

Family birthday for a 3 yr old they were lovely showing her a lot of commitment even having a cd of nursery rhymes that theyplayed in the background to keep us all amused. The pizza are one of the best I have hadfor a long time.
Mine had next to no crust toppings right to the edge.
Certainly go back or ordera take away.
I'm sorry to say that I was a bit sceptical about Sasso's and it was only because my family kept telling me it was so good that I gave in and came along. The location on Boundary Road doesn't exactly lend itself to great restaurants but Sasso's in the exception. It was fantastic and the best pizza I've had.
The service was great, staff were friendly and we weren't rushed at all, the pizzas were amazing (so good I didn't even get a chance to take photos as we all tucked in immediately) and the desert was summed up for me in 2 words; Homemade Tiramisu!
So I'm sorry for judging you before I came Sasso's, and I hope you remain where you are for a long time as having an amazing pizza restaurant like yours so local to me is great!! Highly recommended to everyone that either likes Pizza or lives in Portslade, or if you like both it's a no brainer!
Paper thin authentic pizza of napoli. Absolutely insane, will be coming to visit again. Friendly staff and 10/10 pizza strongly recommend.
