Great menu with lots of choice, lovely food as always, atmosphere and lovely log fire on a cold day.
Lovely to see three vegan desserts (great for me as I am allergic to eggs) some restaurants don't have any.
The fruit crumble and vegan custard was divine.
A perfect family meal out from start to finish. The Sovereign is beautifully decorated and very very comfortable. We were welcomed so pleasantly and found the set lunch menu to be amazing value at £15.50 for two courses, and still plenty of choice. The full menu was brilliant too. Orders came piping hot and fresh, great quality posh pub grub. It was the perfect place for a get together and we all enjoyed being there, from the 14 yr old up to the 83 yr old. (Mobility access is really easy and there is plenty of parking in the large car park with no steps) Plenty of choice of ice-cold lagers for a hot day too.
Cocktail Masterclass Wednesday 14th June 2023
Absolutely amazing evening. Lee did a Stirling job hosting his first cocktail evening, very knowledgeable, passionate, attentive and most of all fun! The crowd we were with were superb and lots of fun too. Canapes on arrival with prosecco cocktails were faultless and enjoyable. Masterclass covered a stack, shake and stirred cocktail. No premeasured cocktail mixes all ingredients were high end named spirits syrups and flavourings!!! Top class quality in every way. Cocktail master class was followed by supper of Sovereign Pizza and chips (delicious). Cant wait for the next one. All came away with laminated recipe cards of all the cocktails we had had/made, which was a nice touch.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun filled entertaining evening. Great value for money and great fun.

Having driven past this place a thousand times and never really thought about it we dropped in for an evening meal on the way home from the airport. Surprised to find a much cosier pub than I'd expected and enjoyed a very tasty steak at a very reasonable price. Good pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord too.
What can I say? The sovereign has an amazing homely feel , propper Yorkshire friendly greeting.
The service was 5star with a little banta for free .
The staff are so friendly & so helpful too. Mia, Max & Lee, made us feel right at home.
They where so helpful with the menu & knowledgeable with there products too.
Having such well trained staff with such great personalities makes this place a great place to relax while having a fantastic meal.
Options ranging from good old Haddock& chips my dad enjoyed very much , to daily specials like Chicken leak & pancheta pie my wife said was beautifully cooked light flaky pastry with creamy chicken & pancheta cooked to perfection.
I had the Duo of lamb.... WOW two meals in one. An amazing Shepherds pie with creamy mash topped with a bit of cheese like mum used to make & two large lamb steaks with veg & gravy . Just cooked to perfection.
We highly recommend booking you table for an enjoyable meal in a homly welcoming environment. Enjoy!

"The owner" has responded to say how can they achieve five stars? Well my 4 stars is due to limited Flexibility for gluten free and gluten free choices. I'd have loved chicken minus breadcrumbs but when I asked it was not possible as I'd anticipated across the chain. This is not specific to this venue within the chain. We will be back there but there is nothing more this venue can do within the constraints of the chain to improve the service we received
Just enjoyed a beautiful snack of prawns and scallops here with a roaring log fire and pint of local tipple - AMAZING.

Last minute decided to visit iyr local. Wonderful warm welcome as always. Very busy evening, staff sorted a table immediately. Great food and service from the whole team. Topped off by a lift home by assistant manager Lee as no taxis available on a very wet evening. 5☆ Sovereign
