The Sovereign

Just been here with my boyfriend and his mum and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the mac and cheese with beef brisket and it came out red hot and it was delicious, I also had the brownie bombshell for dessert and that was divine. The service was really good as well and they were all very kind and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some nice food. Thanks to all of the staff working today; Claire, Jess, Ildi, Craig and Kelly.

Had a lovely lunch here today. Service was exceptional from Claire and Ellie. Despite being very busy, service was prompt and friendly but also very professional. We three ordered diffeent dishes and all were very tasty and enjoyable. Desserts were also excellent. The whole experience was very enjoyable and the bonus was the lunchtime price offer. Thank you Claire, Ellie and chef Rhys, we will be back!!

Excellent service from Jess and Ellie :) the food was incredible. My favourite is the sticky chicken starter with chilli jam (I purposefully made a trip here for that dish). Everyone is so polite, the atmosphere is so lovely and you can tell the place is so looked after:) We will definitely be back again :)

We love meeting our family here for delicious food great service & a homely atmosphere The menu covers something for every taste proper food perfect sized portions perfectly cooked I love the duo of lamb, but the steak is beautiful & my daughter loved her mac& cheese. We followed that up with banoffee pie it was amazing. So if your looking for a nice spot for a meal while on your travels around here then pop in . Better still book a table in advance & avoid disappointment, i can promise you will enjoy you visit either way

A lovely country pub, nicely decorated and spacious (and plenty of room between tables!) but cosy too. And a fire roaring in the grate, couldn't be better. Every meal I've had there has been delicious, and good quality. But the real stars of the show are the staff. No matter how busy or run off their feet they are - even Christmas - the welcome is always warm and friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The service can't be faulted, smiles seem to be the order of the day and you're made to feel special and valued. Yesterday it was Claire, Kelly and Suz - well done, all of you, and thanks for a lovely lunch. The pub does get busy, understandably, so best to book beforehand. Plenty of parking too.

We had not been to the Sovereign for many years as we now live some distance away. We were overall very happy. The initial welcome was not the bestas it was not clear where sit sit while we waited for our friends to arrive. I would be best to be welcomed with a drink and sat in the bar with a menu. Once seated the service and dinner were very good. The best part was the service from Charlotte who was very pleasant, genuine and helpful.
