I used the online booking form to book a table for when the store reopened today (17th May) with my husband. The booking was easy and the owners enthusiasm for board games came across in the confirmed booking. The prices for sitting in gaming is reasonable and affordable. More importantly the selection of games (over 500) is diverse and leaves you spoilt for choice. We picked Terraforming Mars as it's been on our list to possibly buy and this was the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl! The staff were approachable and seasoned board gamers from the conversations we held. The store was clean and table service explained as was the requirement for masks when leaving your table - there was hand gel upon entry too. We arrived at 10am and left at 2pm - just enough time to fit our first play of the game - we watched a you tube tutorial before hand so we could get to grips with the game quicker with the time we have - an online list of current games available to play would be beneficial for planned visits like ours on the website. The food menu is diverse enough that you should be able to find something to satisfy and gaming hunger pangs. We had a small breakfast in the morning and then lunch as well while we were there. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for the quality. They offered decaff tea (in a pot) and coffee which for me who is sensitive to caffeine is a God send. We were asked on a few occasions how the game was playing and if we needed any help with the rules which was a nice touch. Toilets are situated upstairs which wasn't an issue for us but may be for others (I'm not sure if there was a disabled toilet on the ground floor). Overall we spent £40 for a day out. It was such a breath of fresh air being able to do something that we love in a new environment and in such an obviously much cared for and thought out way. The owner cares for his business, gaming and for the food he's serving. There were plenty of people coming in just for the food and it's somewhere we hope to visit often in the future. 😊

Fantastic place, wonderful friendly staff and hundreds of board games to play! We're very much into board games, and have our own collection, but there were many games here we are eager to try! The staff were polite, friendly and very keen to help. We observed a few times them offering and helping people choose games that may have suited their timescales & experience. The tea and coffee were excellent - and the food was really good value for money. We will definitely be going again, and hopefully often! 🙂

First time visit. Quirky enterprise, I got the impression it was quite new. Service was friendly & very efficient. Had a tasty lunchtime sandwich with a pot of tea & it was very reasonably priced & most agreeable. Liked the indie - ish music & the work in progress decor. Presumably gaming is a big feature, though no one was playing whilst I was there. Happy to recommend, hope it goes from strength to strength & will definitely be visiting again myself.

Been here about twice now, and have enjoyed it both times! Best friend and I were looking for a place to have fun and this is the BEST spot. Both guys that work there were really friendly, and even helped pick out games for beginners like us, and have promised to help us move up to the more complex stuff. Food was delicious, especially warm cake with ice cream :D. Wonderful place to go have fun and we will DEFINITELY be going again!

Absolutely cracking little venue that's just opened up in the town centre. Coffees and hot chocolates are great and reasonably priced and the staff are super helpful with game recommendations. The alcohol selection is amazing with alot of great craft beers available. I've not had chance to try the food but it looks very good and smells great! The selection of games is vast without being overwhelming and thus far all the games have been in really good condition. Overall a wonderful place to be and a proper hidden gem in Huddersfield. Definitely worth a visit.
