Another family get together, this time at the village of Perry near Grafham water. The wheatsheaf is a beautiful old pub, the staff top notch & the food first class, representing exceptional value for money.
Service was perhaps a little slow, but it was a very busy afternoon and the staff seemed to cope marvellously !
We had various dishes, we enjoyed them all, no complaints at all, but I would personally recommend the steak & kidney pudding I had for a main & the apple crumble I had for dessert.
Highly recommended !
Attentative staff who made us feel welcome. Beautiful small garden area which was glorious in the sun. Good selection of traditional home cooked meals including some specials. Very reasonably priced. Good value for money. Small car park and some on street parking... which included some locals on tractors!
This is a fantastic pub and restaurant. We had booked a table but chose to sit in the garden as it was shaded. 4of us are and the quality of the food was exceptional. The steak was cooked perfectly and obviously a quality piece of meat. The fish and chips were light and fluffy. We shared some desserts which were also very lovely. Staff were welcoming throughout. I would highly recommend.
Good value pub grub.
We normally stop here while walking around grafham for lunch. The sandwiches are nice and come with tortilla chips and a side salad. The brie and bacon is my favourite.we have also had the roast once which was good.
Nice pub with garden. We stopped for lunch, and I ordered a glass of malbec, which was horrible. However, they happily changed it, so I ordered a Molntepulciano D'abruzo 2020 bottle, and it was very good. Food wise, I would rather order the beef and stilton pie instead of the steak, I ordered rare, but it was mid-rare tbh. One more thing Chicken madras was super spicy and believed me. I love spicy but did not mention in the menu the level of hot🔥. Overall, the service was nice and accommodating. Nice atmosphere, and even you have a garden outside.
Shame they don't have more local beer to choose from. Foster was the closest one.
This is a Green King pub, that has really good food, and there are not many other options in the area. The service was good, pretty quick preparation of food even when they were very busy. Prices were moderate and fair for the meals. The portions were of good size. There's great indoor and great outdoor seating. This venue is quite busy.
Went as a group of 17 for a birthday meal. Good service considering the size of the party and the pub was full. Good size portions but presentation still good with reasonable pricing
Lovely village pub. Had a great lunch here with the family. A good selection on the menu. Can recommend the Shawarma which was beautiful. Food came out promptly even though the place was busy and the service was spot on.
It was our 1st time here and it was amazing. All staff were very busy but very attentive. Our food was so well cooked and very tasty & enjoyable. They seemed to cater for all walks of life. Workers/cyclist/dog owners/children. We will definately be going again. Loved it so much
The food was excellent with service that was top notch. There would have been pictures of the food but it was too good to waste time taking a picture. We had the steak and kidney pudding, it was the best I had ever had.
