Love this fish and chip shop. Travelling from London to visit a family member is always topped off with a trip to Barneys. Great portions, great quality, great service. Love it.

I went to Barney's Plaice for a late supper and had a large piece of cod and a small portion of chips. The fish was cooked fresh while I waited and was still piping hot when I got home.

Only ever had one bad experience at this place, and that was over Uber Eats. The driver gave us the wrong order, and it was pretty much closing so we couldn't get a replacement.
We were refunded and all orders before and after this incident have been fresh and very tasty! Fair prices and big portions :)

"Best fish and chips in Cambridgeshire" no longer...
This was previously a five star review but I've had to downgrade. Its marginal whether should be four stars, three may be more appropiate. Following change in ownership,the quality of the fish and chips has definitely worsened. The size of the fish has got smaller and the fish seems much greasier than before. Also they have stopped taking card payments cash only.
It's notable that there are no longer queue outside the shop on Fridays.

Perfectly cooked chips and sausage. Not too greasy, ready instantly. The packaging is all compostable which is a big plus. Can see why people queue out the door here. I'll return
