Wendy & Dave are amazing. Pete's a bit of a legend and he can sing in tune, the bar is well stocked, lots of choice. The glasses are always clean, no lipstick marks, not even on the pint pots 😂. The food is delicious, Karen is a superstar & there's always decent people in & no mither. 🤩
What a gem this place is it still has its Original bar. the staff are lovely and attentive.
The food is is amazing no nonsense grub
. The cheese and onion pie is amazing. The best I’ve ever had.
Lovely staff quality beer at a cheep price grate place to be
Great friendly place staff included, good beer at a fair and indeed very reasonable price. The food is to be honest 'second to none' there is nowhere else within miles to match this place never mind beat it. Six days a week between 11am and 3pm you can get a lovely meal 🍴 for two home cooked including pot of tea 🍵 and desert for: wait for it, under a tenner wow. Please try it, there are customers who prefer to eat at this establishment six days a week its great, no downside at all, thank you for reading and hopefully supporting our local work hard businesses.
Very traditional old pub. Traditional in the fact that I don't think anything has been moved since it was built. That is not a bad thing by any means, it is so nice to see a traditional pub with mod cons (karaoke, DJ etc). The food I have heard is excellent, although this information is second hand but from an avid diner, this is gold star in their world.
Have a pint and a gander.
Landlord a mixture of Jason Momoa & Doctor Frasier Craine, intelligent, friendly, and a smile that makes you feel more than welcome, the white lion is a hidden gem, thoroughly enjoyed my visit, great staff& karaoke I will be back 🙌
Friendly and welcoming at all times and: if you or your group would like a proper home cooked dinner when in the area then this is the only place to go, by far the best and never yet equalled anywhere in Tameside. Monday to Saturday 11am to 3pm a great selection of meals. For example: on a Wednesday one of the regular specials is roast lamb with all the trimmings, choices of dessert and a large pot of 'Yorkshire' tea for two, only £15 all inclusive. There is a smaller senior citizen option also available at a reduced price but available for anyone who wants a smaller portion. It's clean, table service and reservations are available. Being a pub there is obviously also a bar with alcoholic drinks available. The dining area is open plan but offset from the main bar area. Clean accessible toilets and a ramp at the main entrance. Disabled and those with wheelchair are welcome and will be directed to a comfortable seating area. Great staff, great food and excellent quality and service.
