Anam Hoque
A nice spacious restaurant on ilford high road. Top and basement floor seating. Enough seating for 50+ people. We were seated on the bottom floor. It was a bit smokey when we entered. Many of us were coughing due to grilling smell and fumes. After fans were turned on it was cleared. The staff downstairs were very friendly and helpful. They took our order of starters and mains. Mains we requested after we returned from evening prayers. Staff helped us to choice what we wanted and recommendations. We opted for a mix starter will sheesh kebabs, chicken tikka, samosa chaat, papadum and drinks and a large mixed platter for mains with Mango lassi, Lamb Karahi . Started didn’t take too long. They were hot and tasty. The starter kebabs were a bit bland and most people disliked it but all the other items were good and tasty. We went to prayers and returned and waited half an hour for the platter. We were not sure why the large platter had chips even though this was not on the menu and we had grown people with us, rice instead of chips would be better but we didn’t complain but a bit disappointed in what we got for price we paid for platter compared to other restaurants. The food and items on platter was tasty and fresh and good portions. There was enough for everyone on our table. Drinks were nice and cold and the Mango Lassi was very tasty. We did not feel rushed after our main meal and able to relax and enjoy the cake for my recognition. Overall a nice place, friendly staff and good food!! Parking is free on the side roads after 6:30pm.

Never fail to please, cleanliness on point, service with a smile however the food tops of the experience. I had a Tawa, the euphoria one experiences when the Tawa arrives is not something one can easily put in words. You must experience this place…

Food was enjoyable and generous portions. Clean tidy.
We had a lamb biryani and a lamb burger meal. Apart from slow cooking g time the food was hot and tasty.
Slow time could be due to Ramadan. Free dates and salad to help break a fast despite being Christian. A very nice touch and well recieved. If only all religions were so welcoming.
Price was wonderful and definitely value for money. Will be back again.
Second visit back. Lamb and chicken burgers. Was really busy but didn't feel rushed. Food was hot and tasty. Pay for what you get. Good value.

Nice restaurant in prime location of Ilford Lane, which is very busy and famous place in East London. Before Green Street was hot place for Asian community but now Ilford is main hub for Asian Pakistan Indian and Bangladeshi food and shops. Food was good, but it’s not that great as expected, service and staff was nice. They have space in basement which is very good for small parties and meetings, as we got meeting and dinner. We spent around 3 hours.

Today visited Taj grill with my family as we wanted to have Pakistani authentic food and the experience was fabulous. The food is great and so do the ambience. We were a given a table in the basement family area which was a great idea to have family parties and to have a bit of privacy. The staffs were very polite courteous. Most importantly, the food's quality and quantity were really excellent. The price will not bite your wallet. Finally, Taj will not disappoint you.

We went to Taj grill for the first time because my friend suggested me this place. Customer service was awful and very unwelcoming. Did not say hello, food came late and half of the things were missing. Staff did not ask if everything is okay or we need anything else. We waited for the waitress for 15 minutes to ask her about our missing item. Food was good and tasteful. I wouldn’t go and eat there instead I would order for pick up and eat at home. Giving 4 stars for the food only. 0 star for customer service.

The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. staff are friendly too, but the sitting place is not luxurious and fantastic, looks very old-fashioned, basement stinks of the dump in winter. so make sure to sit upstairs. Their masala fish is fantastic.

Was roaming in the car hungry and passed a few good looking places but had struggled with parking. So we endee up at this place.. last time we came by the street, this place seemed busy so we though we would give it a tru. From outside it looked decent but through the window there was a typical takeaway sign so couldn't make out what tupe of place it was.
Anyway we thought that while it was a grill place it would be logical to try the mix grill.. it looked great when in arrived on the table but as we dug in our expectations just dropped. Chicken seemed old tasting, flavour of the marinade didn't seep into the chicken itself. Meat tikka was dark in colour as if it was warmed in the microwave and dried out. The chicken tikka wasn't too bad, as were the kebabs you get. Lamb chops also tasted just average if not less. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt by ordering the dhal which seemed ok. But other members of the family were not convinced and just did not enjoy the meal.

For 19.99 it was good for two... if it tasted nice but after a long time I can say I have never felt more disappointed.

Final nail in the coffin was yoghurt sauce in a glads bottle. Tried looking posh but tasted almost like it was going off. Should be abit chilled and fresh as a basic requirement. Don't know how long it was out on the table. Rreated as a regular condiment. Even the vinegar based chilli was in the bottle which is ok. But stick to ketchup and mayo and that would have made sense?

Unlikely to go again. Check the menu before you sit down as you will not get much of what you bargained for. Standard menu with very very average food.

Am not one to critic food harshly but for someone in my shoes at the moment, it really good to me the even people around me seemed frustrated about it.

I am trying to think of how to give the rating as I did manage to eat chips without complaints and the naan as least.

Staff were nice enough when you first come in and when you leave by opening the door for you. But standard service in between. Food did arrive within 10 mins or so as well.
