Blacksands Bistro

This place is unique one in Ilfracombe! We were looking for a modern, cosy and childfriendly restaurant on a Sunday in October. We ended at Blacksands. What a wonderful restaurant with a very friendly and comfy ambiance! Many thanks to our waitress who was very very nice to us and our small girls. She made us feel very welcome as foreign visitors. The food was delicious, we've never had a Sunday roast but it was very good! Also the children enjoyed the meal. They don't have a kids menu but there was enough food to share from the mains, and they could also make a smaller portion for children if you want. There's a changing table at the toilets for babies. The food was delicious, but the fact that we felt very welcome made it a perfect dinner! Thank you!

Brilliant bistro, offering excellent food and drinks (cocktails are good). Staff friendly, 50/50 mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Would be 4.5 stars really, prices just seemed a little too high considering what you get compared to other places. But ultimately well worth a visit and repeated visits too. Yet to try a film night so waiting for them to come back!

This place is amazing, I visited here twice and was very impressed both times. The first night I had the Stilton quich with a digestive base (yes not the norm) but it was amazing a must have, the flavors where amazing. The second time I went had the burger and I have had a lot of burgers in my lift time and I can honestly say it has been the best. It's a very cosy and warm relaxed environment which is great. I would book if you want a table as it is a small establishment, it is well worth it. The staff were very attentive and the Chillie shot was very warming. It's in my top ten restaurants to visit and go back to.
