New place where an American Diner used to be. We came in for coffee and cake, but they also have a lot of savoury snacks and sandwiches as well as breakfast on their menu (see pictures).
Cakes and coffee were delicious, the atmosphere was really nice. Would definitely come back for more!
Had an absolutely lovely experience here! The baristas/employees were so kind and welcoming, and all of our food and drinks were fresh & delicious. Pictured is the Sourdough Toast with a Kick (added poached eggs), Nutella croissant, and dirty chai latte.
We came here for brunch after being told by another fancy coffee shop just down the road that we couldn't come in with our dog, in spite of her being in a buggy. I have no problem with places having a no-dogs policy, but do object to being spoken to rather nastily.
The welcome at Johnny's couldn't have been more different. They were very happy for us to come in with the dog and greeted us all warmly. We ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, and coffee. The eggs were rich and buttery and delicious. We're both coffee aficionados, and agreed that the coffee was excellent - and we don't often rate coffee shops so highly.
So if you're needing a coffee in Ilfracombe, go to Johnny C's and not the flint-hearted place down the road.
