Lovely restaurant, looks great. Loads of seating and nice outdoor area with pond. The food was good, but could be better. Had the dirty burger which I liked the beef dripping with it to dip the burger in, nice touch had to use a knife and fork with the burger as it is messy. The patty wasn’t the flavourful also felt like it was missing a side of coleslaw or something additional.
Went on a surprisingly quiet Friday night a couple of weeks ago. Loads of seating options, staff really chill about where we could sit which was nice, only went in for some drinks and nibbles but the places was gorgeous, loved the interiors, food was amazing and just such nice service from everyone. Really want to go back!
The food is good, staff very attentive. Venue deco and building is beautiful. Real flowers on the table and real fireplace. Definitely will come back again.
We both had the buttermilk chicken burger and it probably the best chicken burger I’ve ever had. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Desserts were delicious (sticky toffee pudding and trio of cheesecakes). A bit more expensive than average pub meals but the food and atmosphere were far better than average. Would highly recommend.
A long established restaurant and hotel on the edge of Harrogate town.
It's a beautiful building with plenty of character. The interior is well furnished in an interesting style (not sure about the neon elements). It is not particularly noisy, even when busy.
Service is friendly and professional. We didn't need to wait too long for the food, although it was fairly quiet at the time.
The menus have a good mix of dishes and should appeal to most. Vegan and vegetarian are clearly marked.
The food... Overall it was very good, nicely flavoured and well presented. One of our group had the roast chicken dish. Unfortunately the chicken was rather dry and some of the vegetables weren't hot.
Still happy to recommend and we will be back in the future.
Delicious food, excellent Sunday roast of pork belly, probably the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had all year and amazing chocolate melting bomb thing!! (I could have eaten it twice over!)
A very nice pub with a garden as impressive as the building itself. We were only there for a drink but the member of bar staff was welcoming, chatty and fast with the service. All the interior decor is clean and modern but the garden is a wonderful space. Although no one else was sat there, the sound of running water in the pond is relaxing and it feels like living in your own country manor! Plenty of seating and tables suitable for groups are also present.
It’s not the cheapest of pubs but for a more special occasion I’d certainly return.
We went here for a Sunday roast and it was lovely. Tucked in a cosy corner with the dog. The large pub doubled up as a hotel. The staff were attentive. Special call out for the nut roast, one of the best I’ve ever had as I tend to find them dry. The pork was lovely as well
Great experience on a Sunday night. Excellent service, orders taken quickly but not rushed. Food arrived in good time and was delicious. Desserts also lovely.
The food was very nice and all but one guest had no issues, which for a party of 17 was pretty good. We did address the problem with the food (steak) and it was rectified quickly enough. We did feel a little out of the way but given the size of our party that couldn’t be helped. Drinks service was a touch slow but didn’t impact on the meal. Overall enjoyable.
