Found this by accident, recommended by another pub as we only wanted a light meal which they weren't serving. Opposite the pub is woodland so lots of dogs and humans having refreshments.
Food was nice although a little on the pricey side, but isn't everything.

Very and I mean VERY tasty food. The portions were also incredibly big. My friends got fish and chips and it was huuuge (and tasty). I got a BLT sandwich and what I liked is that it was homemade. Or as I said “a sandwich that your Mum would have prepared with love and care”. <3
Really great place. We went there for lunch after a countryside walk. It's in a lovely location with lots of outside seating. The food was fantastic and served quickly despite being busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend a visit.
The Viper is like an oasis, especially if you travel by bike; located in the middle of woodland it feels miles from anywhere. There is a very good range of beers, and the brews we sampled were really good. However this isn't a foodie destination; the sandwich I ordered was nicely presented, but the bread was a bit dry, and the choice overall wasn't very inspiring.

Visiting from Bristol. We stopped here after a family walk. Table of 8 (mix of adults and children) we all chose different meals, and all the food came out at the same time and we were all very impressed by the quality of all them . Good honest country pub menu. Service was efficient and friendly too. Would recommend.
Lovely country pub. Always worth visiting but especially for the Bank Holiday beer festival's.

Relaxed pub with plenty of seating and shade in the beer garden. Good provision of parking and beautiful, shaded wooded walks in the immediate surroundings.
Lovely old pub on the middle of nowhere. Big car park. Loads of seating outside. Lots of seating inside. Food and service was amazing. Definitely go back.
