Myself and my boyfriend went to scotch and Rye for our dinner. When we came in we were seated straight away with a friendly face. The bar staff Max and Connor were so bubbly and full of enthusiasm behind the bar. It put energy into the bar. Then when we had a look at the cocktail menu I didn't know what to have so our waiter, who was also very friendly, suggested the melon cooler which tasted amazing. Our burgers which were a mac and cheese and a venison burger were so big and tasted delicious. Would highly recommend.

Can't go wrong with the burgers here! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend the popcorn haggis or fried cayenne peppers. Then the Mac and cheese burger or haggis burger. Cocktails are great but kind of pricey. Well worth it, all of it. Will be visiting again when we are back up this way!
Stopped off for a quick bite to eat on our way to the airport. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The food was very tasty and we were all pleasantly surprised with the quality. Gluten free options on the burgers which is a plus!
Was up in Inverness for work and was wandering around the city centre looking for somewhere for food. Stumbled across Scotch and Rye and they were very good to get me a table.
Food was amazing. Staff made some great recommendations from the menu for food and I matched it up with a 2 pint stein.
Cannot fault the place. Lovely atmosphere and everyone I dealt with were great. Will 100% be back on my next visit to Inverness for work.
Nice ambience with a considerable selection of drinks. The food was also very good, with a special taste and presentation.
All in all, everything is very coherent and it is a must to stop here.
Greetings From Germany!
Love the atmosphere here! Food was DELICIOUS, just wish it hadn’t take so long. Took 45 mins (I think actually closer to an hour) on a pretty quiet afternoon. 😬 BUT food was very very good. I’d come back again for sure.
This is SUCH a nice place. It would likely end up becoming an exercise in romanticism for me to describe my experience here. Delectable cocktails, delicious food and very importantly - very warm, welcoming servers all underscored by groovy music.
Was walking around and came across this place to eat. Honestly, the chicken wings were really good and the flavor was nice. I enjoyed them immensely. Not sure I get many wings that look like these, so I was iffy, but they were very tasty. I kind of wanted more. Service was fairly good here as well and it was a relaxing environment.
International review: we have been reviewing a number of the restaurants in Inverness and Scotch & Rye has taken top spot. The venue itself is nice, good music (not too loud), nice layout and lighting - great for groups or more intimate occasions. Also it's dog friendly (bonus points for the good boiz).
The food is very tasty, and it's best described as pub style offerings but done classy. So think burgers and fries but the burgers have a range of flavours and additions, and the fries come in various offerings including delicious loaded fries. We didn't get around to the deserts (we got stuck on the cocktails) but they looked great and were fairly priced.
Portion wise a main and loaded fries is a filling meal, so they are generous (starters on top of these or desert may be too much for some!).
The range of beers is great (we tried the brewtoon and that was fab, but you can do beer flights too for variety). Cocktails are also a great range, the £6 staples are all great, but it you want to go a bit more fancy you're looking at £8-£12 but these are also great offerings.
The staff are friendly, prompt, and competent (they can split a bill without asking or causing a fuss which is a big win for group dining).
Caution: book in advance, even if it's on the same day. They get busy and often only take bookings.
We look forward to another visit later this year!
Our server was Kyran and we had no problems at all. Everything we tried was great quality and the meat was delicious and rich. Overall, 10/10 experience and reasonable prices.
Omg - this place is amazing!!! Their cocktails are soooooo gooood. AND the food is also great! We were in Inverness for 4 days, and unfortunately I didn’t discover this place until day 3! 😩 I probably would have eaten here all 4 days! I really enjoyed their Hilly Cheesesteak! ❤️ Had some haggis balls, the kaleslaw and the s’mores mousse for dessert. I think my favorite cocktail might have been the Have You Met Heather (gin, sweet whisky liqueur, rose syrup, pressed peaches and organic emulsifier, with crushed rose petals on top of the foam). My son enjoyed the Lebowski Collection (variations on the White Russian).
The staff was friendly and chill, and it’s a beautiful space with a nice vibe. Very popular, but not too noisy. Highly recommended - will definitely be back if ever in Inverness again!
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
One of the best restaurants in Inverness!!
Our food was amazing!! We had a range of things off of the menu and it was all amazing! So much flavour and everything was cooked perfectly!
We also had a range of cocktails and they were amazing as-well!
Couldn’t fault the service, everyone was amazing!
Everything was just perfect!
Bonus points for the hot sauce wall!!
