Our first time here today and wow, What a gem of a place !!
What a wonderful meal... Nice fresh ingredients and the treacle bread is delicious!! Such a Great menu...Luvley owners/hosts thankyou for our dining experience!!

My parents & I ate here on Father's Day & contrary to the negative review on here the food was fabulous as always. Lots of different combinations which is a
refreshing change to the usual 'run of the mill' menu at other places. They had all the doors and windows open
to make it as comfortable as possible; after all they can't control the weather can they?!
All staff were efficient and attentive, drinks fizzy &
Cold, desserts to die for! All in all, as expected a first class meal & service. My parents have booked next week for their wedding anniversary meal.

Stunning! Absolutely stunning.
Having had many disappointing meals out locally, this was such a pleasant surprise. Recommended to us by our neighbours we finally went for a mid-week dinner and I wished I’d come here sooner, we will be back for Saturday brunch!

Absolutely amazing place! Outstanding food & the staff really made everything work. The adult Mr Men books really made us giggle 🤭. Would definitely recommend The Merry Monk & we will definitely be going there again. Very soon!
Incredible food with fantastic service. Polite and friendly staff providing excellent service throughout. We took our 4 month old who decided to wake up just as the food arrived. Staff took some of the plates back to keep them warm, for when we were ready! My Father-in-law says "Whoever chose the wine obviously knows what they're doing!". Great selection of drinks alongside a brilliant menu that, being unchanged, obviously works well. No baby changing facilities unfortunately but we appreciate that room, in an old building, in a luxury, as was our visit! We look forward to returning again very soon! Thanks to The Merry Monk team!
This is best pub restaurant I have ever found in my area. It serves absolutely stunning food that is just exquisite in flavour, presentation, construction and quality. On Sunday we had a Sunday lunch and it was extraordinarily good. Everything was perfectly cooked, nothing overdone or lacking in taste. The beef, medium rare for me and rare for my wife was exactly as requested and so tender and flavoursome. Just amazing. Previously, for a birthday evening out I had a satay curry which was so full of flavours and textures and with very tender tasty chicken. Fabulous is not a word I use lightly but the food here just is. The staff are very friendly, attentive and keen to help. I cannot recommend The Merry Monk any more highly. It should be in first place on your list of eateries to go to. If you haven't been yet, then rectify that immediately!
A very well presented establishment. The evening from start to finish was great the staff very friendly but not over bearing and didn't hover. The food was superb. A nice treat for my wife's 30th and our 10 year wedding anniversary.
Anniversary meal, absolutely superb 👌, service faultless, food faultless, would recommend to anyone.
Popped in on a late Saturday morning with my 87 year old father and had the Eggs Royale, which we both thought was superb. Nice staff, reasonable prices.
Had a lovely Sunday roast for a late lunch, and an amazing baklava for dessert. The staff was attentive, even in the hot weather. I will definitely have to come back and try the rest of the menu.

I believe we and even the owners were surprised how quiet it was but that did mean there was lots of space and easy to speak to the staff.
The food was delightful but possible a little too much on the place because I couldn't manage dessert. 😂
