Whilst doing the NC500 we stopping at the camp site at John O’Groats and found this amazing little place!!
We were only just in time for food (thank goodness, it was a long day), but we were met by a lovely smiley team who were more than helpful with everything we asked, even if we might have been a little awkward not knowing what we wanted to start with.
We had such a lovely time talking to others while waiting for food and when the food did come, this was just as lovely! We weren’t sure what to expect but this was definitely something we would be coming back for.
Even after our trip I wanted a hoody they had for sale and they have been lovely enough to offer to send me one to my house all the way in oxford!
We will be back!!
You get to the top of Scotland/Britain, and you want some sustenance? Check out The Cabin!
Set in a lovely port-adjacent cabin in the glorious John ‘O Groats, The Cabin offers travellers a great selection of hot and cold snacks, sweets and drinks, including the classic fish and chips! How on Earth the folks manage to coordinate their whole operation in such tight working conditions seems like magic, but they somehow make it work!
Seating is outside and provided by a couple of picnic benches, so best to go when the weather is nicer! A beautiful spot provides stunning scenery whilst you enjoy your tasty snacks.
This is a small little shed that does coffee and some snacks like a haggis bun. The best my husband ever tasted! Good coffee. Nice owners and ideal for take away when you go on the ferry to Orkney or on the road.
