The Gateway Inn - Kendal - Photo album

We had Sunday dinner here yesterday. I can honestly say it was THE best Sunday lunch I have ever had. We eat out a lot, and this was our first time here as it was recommended by our hosts. It is a beautiful old building. We did book as we did not know how busy it might be. When we arrived we were se
Lovely helpful staff. Nice clean dining rooms. Best Sunday lunch I have ever had .. well done chef. Dog friendly.
An absolutely beautiful place to stay, the rooms are clean and well designed, they use local products made in the Lake District for soap and coffee, the staff are very friendly and the view is pretty. It is near a motorway but it looks very pretty at night with all the cars and lights going past and
Recently spent three days at this delightful Hotel......cannot fault anything about it...room was clean, decorated superbly and was very comfortable .....service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble, .....bar and food were excellent. Location was ideal. We would highly recommend The Gateway I
Excellent food and lovely setting. Just a shame the waitresses obviously don’t get on well, kept openly disagreeing at volume for the whole pub to hear. Also overheard one waitress tell the supervisor she just needs to ‘slap a smile on’ to get tips from customers. Real shame as the food is delicious
We stopped for lunch and the Gateway inn is conveniently situated just of the main road in an elevated position with a good view of the surrounding hillls. A warm welcome was given and the service was excellent. The Menu offered a good choice including starters, light lunches, main course and desser
We found this place on Wednesday June 21st after being let down by a room cancellation at another hotel in Kendal. Location is ideal. Friendly team. Attention to all details. Accomodation was cozy, modern and rustic at once. Had a family room - Perfect for a family of 4. Restaurant is charming with great menu.
I had lunch here with five friends and we really enjoyed our afternoon. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and efficient. Nicely situated there is seating outside too.
Welcoming and friendly staff. Varied menu and selection of drinks. Room was comfortable and quiet. Would definitely stay there again.
Can't comment on the rooms but the places itself is great and the food lovely. Will not hesitate to visit again.
Good food, lovely staff. Would definitely visit again.
Called in for Sunday lunch. We had a lovely roast beef roast and the plate was full with a generous portion of tender beef, huge Yorkshire Pudding and fresh vegetables and plenty of gravy 😋.
Really great value hotel! And dog friendly 🐕 Our room was well appointed and clean, with modern furnishings. And the pub downstairs served surprisingly great food! The staff we met were all so lovely too! We will definitely come back!
A lovely place to eat just on the outskirts of Kendal. The food was delicious, well presented and the portion sizes were just right. The only aspect that could have been slightly improved was the service. When we arrived we were immediately seated at our table, but it did take a bit of time before o
