Me and a few friends are staying in the lakes for a few days (we are from the West Midlands) the home of the Takeaway! The Chinese chicken curry was lovely nice amount of spice (more flavour than spice), chicken crown mein noodles were fine and soft and tasty and chips were spot on , along with the rice and condiments/appetisers!
Very good food with lots of choices on the menu, very good portion sizes. The food stayed warm to be eaten at home. Unfortunately they are no longer doing the fish and chips side of Ruby's, and as winter is on it's way and with circumstances as they are at present having to wait outside is very cold... They could do with a shelter or a heater of some sort for those not in a car.
Great food, quick service & reasonably priced what more can you ask for. We ordered on the phone, turned up at the time we'd ordered for & it was ready, both the lady who took the order & the one who served us were polite & friendly & the food was delicious & still hot when we got home, highly recommended

Ruby's??? Diamonds!!
I moved to Kendal recently and frequented the town centre on 2 occasions for a Chinese takeaway - dreadful on both occasions. I lived in Bolton le Sands prior so Trungs set a very high benchmark!
I chose 2 dishes which will define the rest of the menu, in my opinion - Wanton Soup and S&P Ribs. Included free of charge were some prawn crackers. I make the assumption that if the wantons are fresh with a home-made stock soup - and the ribs are moist, decent cuts and not loaded with MSG then the rest of the menu will follow suit.
The 2 dishes were an absolute delight! The wanton soup was very lightly seasoned along with fresh cabbage, the wantons were well made and didn't fall apart like others can. The ribs were pork and not beef, they were extremely moist and most bites contained a good sized bone keeping it succulent. Included with the ribs were fresh onion and and little chilli which worked fantastic.
Staff were very friendly and severed under the strict take-away / social distancing rules, order from phone to pickup was 10 minutes!! Added bonus is they accept contactless payment which the other 2 Chinese takeaways in town didn't...
I will be returning very soon to sample one of their main dishes.

Great Chinese. Food was hot, fresh and tasty - best black bean sauce I've had from a takeaway. Less than half an hour wait time on a Saturday night and great socially distanced collection.
Rachel and her staff are lovely, highly recommend the salt and pepper box 1, also love the duck Malaysian style here.
Called in for a takeaway whilst staying in the area. Reasonable prices, quick service and tasty food, will be using again next time we are in town.
Our new favourite Chinese. We went here because river fortune and silver mountain no longer take card payments. Ruby does and the food tased wonderful. Will definitely go back.
Great food, very reasonably priced and you never have to wait long.
Called past last Friday night, for a quick takeaway not from the area so found on a google search, the food was all really good but the service was better still, social distancing to perfection and the young lady on the door even ran the food to my car door when it was ready. Couldn’t ask for more, many thanks.
