Franklin Square Deli

My friend told me about the Franklin Square Deli one day and I decided to go out and give them a try and I'm so happy I did. The staff was very friendly and helpful for my first time. They were very superb when it came to making my sandwich. Not only was it delicious but they got it to me pretty fast especially during a busy time of the day. If you're in the downtown Kent area I highly recommend that you go give them a shot. They really are the best Sandwich joint at Kent.

I went in to the shop today and was greeted by the owner. I asked for a Cuban with a few things off the sandwich because of food preferences. He began to criticize me and he barely let me order my sandwich the way I wanted it in the first place... not to mention while making my sandwich, the whole time he continued to criticize and patronize the choices I made for a sandwich I was going to be eating, not him. He then personally came up to me afterwards to have a conversation about why I should just eat the sandwich how it’s originally made and how he dislikes when people come in asking for changes. I feel if someone were to have problems with eating, this scenario would of been devastating. If someone is very self conscious about what they eat, he could of completely ruined the one food they could tolerate. I used to go every week and order the same sandwich, but I was made so uncomfortable by the owner patronizing me over a sandwich. I will more than likely not be going back. The plain and simple fact is that I was eating the sandwich and PAYING HIM to make something I wanted to eat. My money will go to kind & accommodating establishments.

I asked to make my own bagel , as that is what it says you can do on the online menu, and the older gentleman who took my order was not very kind about doing this for me. It was my first time in here and I was a little confused about how everything worked and he was very rude and made me feel unwelcome here and was not helpful. He didn’t make eye contact with me and shook his head when I was ordering. Definitely won’t come back.

An overlooked local culinary gem. The food here is far superior the very overrated neighboring eateries, which mostly serve disgustingly greasy “bar food”. This place has fresh, quality deli subs. If you’re in Kent for a concert or whatever, skip the subpar & overrated bar food at & treat yourself to a really great quality sub at Franklin Square Deli, I only wish they were open later.

The food here was great. The service was also excellent... The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of their menu and eager to please...It was nice to sit down and dine in the restaurant...The atmosphere was nice and quiet and made for an enjoyable lunch. Its definitely worth stopping by to grab a bite to eat if you are in the area...
