The staff were wonderful with a special thank-you to Emily for all her care in looking after us with a Special birthday tea. One of our party is Gluten Free and Cafe Hope proved to cater more than adequately for us on this very special day. Thank you.
We love this cafe, and always eat here when visiting Keswick, but the food and service can be a mixed bag, very much depending on the day. The drinks are always amazing. Food is ok, although it is expensive for what you get, you are paying for the location and atmosphere. They now do gluten free bread for sandwiches but the portion sizes are tiny, with the breadbun being half the size as a normal bun, and I had to ask for my brie to be melted as my bacon, brie sandwich it came cold. They are dog friendly, and you can buy extra treats for your pooches.
Visited for an afternoon tea as part of our Lake District honeymoon and weren’t disappointed. The Pods are a lovely setting, comfortable and such a treat.
The afternoon tea itself was tasty with a great cake selection, couldn’t fault the service which was friendly and attentive. The card congratulating us was a nice touch too and much appreciated.
Couldn’t fault our visit to cafe hope. We arrived later in the day so there was no hot food but we were coming for tea and cake so it was all good. Service was excellent. The young chap that served us was very friendly, welcoming and confident. They have a wide variety of teas to choose from. My wife and ordered two different types of fruit teas (I can’t remember the name of them) which were very nice. Although, our 2nd cup was a little too strong as it brewed for too long. We also had a gold bar cookie pie and a white chocolate crispy slice. Both of which were tasty. The cafe is situated nicely. Close to the town centre but also next to the beautiful park where you have a pleasant walk. Excellent setting and well worth the visit.
Excellent staff and coffee. Superb location.
Totally recommend.
Fantastic service, our waitress was so friendly, enthusiastic and polite. (The one with reindeer horns). Oh and the food was amazing too! Absolutely loved my cheese scone with brie melted and the toasted sandwich was huge! Easily enough for 2 with a portion of chips.
The food is beautiful and so are the staff, they are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. You can also take your dog in with you as they are very dog friendly
I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here so only gave three stars. We came here twice the first time for a coffee , it was a bit confusing as we sat for quite a while as it gave the impression it was table service but no one came so in the end I had to go to the doorway hatch and was told there would be a little while to wait and it was taken away. The coffee was in takeaway cups which wasn't a problem and we could sit at the table with it , so service wise I have only given three stars .
The second time we visited was for an ice cream and sat on a bench. The ice cream was very reasonably priced for quite a large scoup
Fantastic coffee, absolutely delicious cakes, and really friendly helpful staff. I loved the explanations on the menu about the different types of coffee. We sat outside in the covered area overlooking the 'pitch & putt' course, and it was a really pretty and relaxing place to sit. Very enjoyable all round.
If you visit keswick be sure to take a walk past cafe hope and see the beautiful sights and scenery of the lake and it's huge colourful mountain scenery, especially when it's a glorious sunny day! Cafe hope does cater for all your needs such as a hot beverage or a cold drink if you desire in the heat of the sun.
And don't forget to grab a tasty ice cream from the cabin attached to the cafe and if you need to spend a penny (free wee actually) then the loos are located at the rear of the cafe with more tables and chairs their should you need to rest a little, and yes there is a disabled toilet with changing facilities inside the disabled loo.
The gardens are so colourful and beautiful to walk around with plenty of car parking from the lakeside car park that also have a few disabled parking.
A must trip out for all the family as there are boat rides at a reasonable price and then there are the rowing variety if you want a more personalised wander out on the lake.
Whatever you choose to do you will come back I can guarantee that.
