The Hare & Hounds

Tuesday at the Hare & Hounds for our Dad & son beer evening. We're sort of irregular regulars at this pub, like a few in this area, turning up now & then!! Only this time it's been a while. Always a good welcome and a well-kept pint. As I'm invariably driving, I have started on low alcohol beers recently and spent an evening on Guinness 0.0 in one pint cans! We sat and chatted between ourselves about music, life, the universe and everything, basically!! This is actually a rather attractive and well turned out pub inside & out with plenty of outdoor seating and a nice feel inside. Staff & customers are always friendly here and you find yourself included in conversations quickly and joining in. One Summer Sunday, we booked for lunch when my daughter was bringing her new American partner to stay in the UK. In the end, the party was reduced by one coming down with COVID and another having tonsillitis. Such is life! We apologised when we arrived but it wasn't a problem. It was too hot really for a roast but roast we were going to have and I must say, the food was excellent, though I spent most most of the time minding my granddaughter!! Service from the young woman behind the bar and a colleague, was excellent. Friendly and thorough, though there were few to serve that hot day! All in all a solid 5-stars. Chef did a great job. Try this pub!!! But don't eat roast on a sweltering hot day!!!

We had a fantastic work Xmas meal last night. There were 13 of us and Michelle took great care in welcoming us and ensuring that we all had what we needed. The food was freshly cooked and the choice of food was great. You can choose from their Christmas menu or their normal menu. Michelle our host was very welcoming as was the barman. Sorry I can’t remember your name 🙂 We will recommend you to our customers family and friends.x

Food was fantastic pepper sauce was home made by Rachel out of this world I have had lots of sauce made but not like this one Steak was lovely good home cooked food but cooked with love and attention Which you do not get very often Very country pub we live in Dorset but will definitely come back for Rachel the chifs food again like we said last night 10 🌟 fantastic food fantastic family run pub very large garden for family's
