The best Fish and Chip shop in the county. We moved to Desborough from Cottingham and the Desborough Fish Bar is now only round the corner to our home. This is fabulous and we look forward to our pensioner portion of perfectly cooked fish and chips.
Desborough Fish Bar is probably the best fish and chips shop in the universe! The ladies that look after you are really friendly, very helpful (I'll explain why shortly). The shop is super clean and tidy. The portions are amazing. And it's great value for your money.
I was working on Station Road on Sunday, I spotted the local chippy, got all excited, couldn't wait for 4 o'clock to come round.
Had a chat with my supervisor Phil (top man), we agreed that I could take my break just after 16:30, straight into the chippy, the lovely ladies greeted me and WOW! The biggest fish potions I've ever seen (nicknames the SHARK!).
So big I asked the ladies (sorry I didn't get your names) if they could cut it in half, which they did (thank you).
I ate some of the other half with chips and saved the other half to share for breakfast in the morning.

I've experienced many chip shops and I'd happily say this is the best. Their fish and chips are generous in size and taste amazing.
Staff friendly and amazing.
Visited from Rothwell yesterday evening (Friday) which was busy with queues running out of the door in the wet weather, but I can understand why. The doner kebab and chips were lovely! I got a very generous portion in a large tray which was filled to the brim and wrapped neatly. Brilliant value for money at £8 for a large portion.
I didn't realise it was cash only here until I stepped in so I had to nip to the Co-Op across the road to draw some money out, so if you plan to visit - bring cash. My fault on that however.
There are two ladies and a gent who are very bubbly and friendly with the customers which makes the experience as a whole nice :) I would highly recommend, even if it's a 5 mile drive down the road!
Lovely experience with mandy and donna!! Friendly, nice to chat to while we waited for our fresh fish hot chips and kids meals! Loads of food for the family at a great cost. Will never go to a different chip shop again!

Mandy and the ladies are lovely! Portion sizes are massive aswell!! Always have a good laugh when going in to get our food, and they absolutely love my son, always giving him treats. Best chippy in Desborough

Brilliant place to eat, the food is absolutely gorgeous! Never fail to impress, and the lovely lady Mandy who works there is always so smiley, welcoming and polite. Well recommend.
Everyone knows this is the best chippy around. I moved to rothwell 8 years ago and I'd still make the trip down to Alex's every time without question
The people are nice and the service is always with a smile. Fish are big and chips arent greasy. The children love the sour tongue colour changing lollies that they get given for FREE when we wait for our food.

This fish and chip shop is absolutely excellent. The portion size given are rather large in comparison to the amount you pay, which can be overwhelming if you are dining alone. However if you are eating with your family, this portion size is excellent to share.
Best fish and chip shop for miles and so cheap ! Cod is £2.60!
