The staff were so lovely and accommodating. We told them at booking I was vegan and they were so helpful/knowledgeable. It’s a small menu so just the one offering but it was beautiful. And I even got a delicious dessert I wasn’t expecting. Would wholly recommend. Everyone else’s food looked lovely and not a morsel left by anyone.

Took my mother out for a drive yesterday and called here for lunch. A great find. Could have sat outside in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine but dined inside instead. We were recommended to try the burger...a good choice.
Friendly staff and good parking all in all an enjoyable experience.
Will be back.

Big off the beaten track but so worth the effort.. waitress was young but so professional and friendly.
Food arrived in a timely manner and was perfect.. we had open prawn sandwich and scampi.. all very fresh.. our waitress checked with us discreetly that food was to our liking.. will definitely be back..

My own business is based around service and the staff here are fantastic. The food was superb to top it all off. A lovely wee old fashioned village setting so don’t expect a big commercial emotionless box setting. Top notch!

I have very specific dietary requirements and was very impressed when the manager phoned to check what I could eat.and also what I liked. All our food was.lovely.and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

It's not often I leave a restaurant saying "complements to the chef" but it was truly well deserved. I had my birthday dinner and the food was exceptional. I had the Pork Belly and it was perfectly done and really nicely presented. Everyone in our party cleared their plates and raved about how nice it was.
The deserts were incredible - I can still taste the lovely chocolate fondant chef special and they did a good Irish Coffee too - always a good sign. The staff were lovely and attentive and the restaurant has a nice feel to it with the cosy pub out the back should you want to make a long evening of it! Sadly we couldn't with a two year old in tow.
We'll be back and it was good value for money given the quality of the food served.

We had a family dinner event with them tonight which included 10 kids. That means a lot of chaos to deal with and the staff took it all in their stride!
The 2 ladies running the show were so kind and patient and nothing was a problem for them.
The food was delicious! So well presented and came out quickly and piping hot! Thank you so much for dealing with the madness! Will highly recommend to others 😊

So easy to miss and yet such a rewarding find if you aren't local. Living close by its a place that I fortunately get to visit semi-regularly, but not as regularly as I'd like. The array of food is fantastic with a constantly evolving and well thought out menu.
But where the Smuggler's really shines is in the sheer quality of the dishes. All the food is well prepared and cooked to perfection and brought out by friendly knowledgeable staff. Always a pleasure to have dinner here.

Great, cosy little bar/restaurant. We were able to bring our dogs to the bar area, and had pizza from their own pizza place. Will definitely be back again.

Was recommended place by our landlord and it didn't dissapoint. Service efficient and friendly. I had chicken pate on toast w red onion marmelade as starter. Good silky texture on pate and flavor well balanced. As main, I ordered steak w gravy. Main course came as a shock. The largest portion of food I have been served in a restaurant for at least 20 years. All tasting good. As always i appreciate a limited menu that is executed well as it is in this place. My wife had chicken filet and son enjoyed a kids burger. Fries and burger was according to him great. Thank you!

We stumbled across this place whilst out for a drive. The service was excellent. Julie, the waitress, is a credit to the establishment. Guinness was the best I've tasted for a long time. Seafood chowder was exceptional. We will definitely be back.

Celebration of a friends birthday 17 of us and the service was faultless from Julie and staff - I’ve eaten in some top restaurants throughout the world and Roy (Chef) was spot on - The flavours of the fish of day was a absolute delight Monkfish in a delicate sauce (image 3) Lamb (4) steak cooked to perfection and the Strangford Crab

We didn't eat here as it was booked up but had a lovely pint of Guinness & promised ourselves a trip back to try the food as it had nice friendly staff, great easy atmosphere in a superb setting...

This place is a hidden gem. Loved the decor, staff were amazing and the food was delicious. Also got chatting to the owner Mervyn, great character he is. Be back again really soon. Dennis, Theresa and Darcy.
