Great food, good service, fairly priced. Menu could be a little more extensive, but specials add variety.
Visited tonight. A friend had recommended here to me. So I took my mum and dad as treat.
I wasn’t disappointed. Greated by friendly staff. The menu has plenty to chose from. There’s different offers on for different days of the week.
Everyone enjoyed their starters. I had the Cajun chicken skewers starter followed by the fillet steak and peppercorn steak. Both courses were excellent. And even my folks polished off their plates.. And the portion sizes are perfect. So much so I couldn’t even think about the sweet menu as I was stuffed. A first for me!
The staff also gave you time between courses, so you had time for the starter to go down before the mains arrived.
All in, staff great, atmosphere great, food excellent. And prices very reasonable as well. A real hidden little gem.
Will definitely be back sooner rather than later. And will also be passing on the recommendation.

Cycled 20 miles from Ayr today to visit the local CAMRA pub of the year! Was not disappointed. The cask beer was spot on. The Spey Cadet at 4.5% was lovely and only £1.85 a pint with our CAMRA member discount. Bargain! The Theakston Old Peculiar at 5.6% was from a woid cask and delicious. Food was also first rate and the landlord and staff couldn’t be more welcoming and friendly. If you like good beer in a quaint old pub and good food to boot you should visit. Worth the 40mile round trip on bikes!!
We recently went to The Weston Tavern in KIlmaurs to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. Right from me emailing them regarding a food allergy that I have, to us being served our food, we had a happy team of workers serving us who ensured that we had an excellent visit and great food laid on the table ! Would I recommend this establishment to others ? Definitely yes !
First rate pub and restaurant. Portions are huge and we’ll priced, food is excellent with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The staff and the owner John are friendly, helpful and really go the extra mile to help with nothing being too much trouble for them.
First visit today and we'll definitely be back! Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. For a burger,I can recommend the 'Big West' burger. Decent slabs of burger, topped with bacon and generous servings of cheddar.
Fabulous restaurant good food with great friendly service. Good value for money as they have specials throughout the week. Plenty car parking too. Highly recommended
Great wee pub. We now walk here rather than into Kilmarnock as its got a lovely beer garden area for people watching. Staff are generally very pleasant and the regulars keep us entertained. Really quirky inside and just an excellent pub.
A must visit! We popped in here for lunch after a morning walk, food was gorgeous! Over lunch it's two courses for about £12 which is a bargain for the quality of food you get. Lady who served us was really friendly and the owner popped in just before we left, again really friendly and gave our pup lots of attention!
A first visit on a CAMRA pub crawl. One of my favourite tipples, THEAKSTONS OLD PECULIAR on draught! Service was slow due to bar size, but staff very very friendly. No meal taken but I've been told by other CAMRA members one of the best for food. Intention to visit again very strong, for a meal too next time.
