My husband and I have been to the Bank House many many times over the years and we have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the knowledge of wines is very good and the food is excellent not to mention the surroundings. During this past year we have on several occasions and ordered the Carve your own Roast. This has to be ordered before 14:30 on the Friday but it is so worth it we've had Pork a couple of times and the crackling is absolutely awesome. This last time we went we had Lamb and it melted in your mouth cooked to absolute perfection. Previously we've had the seafood platter to share and then not had enough room to have a desert so this time we ditched the seafood platter purely so we could have deserts ... and they didn't disappoint.
We had our wedding reception here on 30th December 2017 - nothing was too much trouble, the staff are headed up by the manager, Paul (who works like a Trojan), everything on the day was meticulous, the room was so beautifully dressed, the food stunning, lovely selection of wines (hic!), staff polite and extremely accommodating (even down to re-gluing my new step-daughter's false nails back on!!! - totally beyond the call of duty, I apologise!). The little things you did, did not go unnoticed (dealing with the cheese cake and advising us on timings...etc etc etc). We really could not have wished for a more perfect venue. Thank you so much for helping make our day the magical day it was, Nat & Jon (Dixon-Twigg) x
Beautiful building, fantastic food and the staff were amazing. They were polite, professional and made us feel very special and welcome. It is the best restaurant I have eaten at in a long time.

We had one of my very good friends baby shower at the Bankhouse and the service was faultless from start to finish. We had a private room with afternoon tea. There were some dietary requirements which were adhered precisely as well as a great selection of cakes (the mother to be's favourite!). Staff were great and very attentive! Highly recommend! Also special mention to Paula who helped me unload my car
We didn't stay just called in for a coffee. The waitress was pleasant and helpful and the gentleman behind the bar happily topped up our water bottles. Water was provided for our dog (who was generally made very welcome as we're we). The ambience was comfortable all in all very good.
Really nice position. Very friendly and flexible staff. Super room with fabulous comfortable bed. Really great breakfast. Sensibly priced beer in the bar! Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
The Afternoon Tea was excellent, probably the best we have had. The selection, quality and variety was very good. Booking is essential, not because it gets very busy (we were the only 2 having AT, some more were drinking), but so that it can be prepared.
Went for a pre theatre meal with my family. 2 courses £15 or 3 courses for £20, great choice of food. The service was great , food was fantastic and we were in the theatre on time. Will definitely be doing the pre theatre meal again.
Fabulous food, superb location, wonderful staff, gin menu to die for and the aroma of an open fire. Will definitely be going again.
An impromptu lunch, which was excellent we hadn't booked but they found room for us. The steak and ale pie was delicious
Came here last night for the first time and I highly recommend. Waiter/Waitress were more than helpful and the food amazing.... I will definitely go back!! Xx
The food was lovely, the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere of the whole place was very cosy
great food, pleasant and friendly staff and relaxing by river. Certainly worth a return visit.
My wife and I came here for pre- theatre drink and meal and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, will definitely come back again
Lovely place for lunch, great staff and great food.
Excellent meal, staff very friendly and plesant. Would recommend.
Lovely hotel with lots character. Great location, right on the water so had great views. We stayed in the cresswell room.
The food was amazing both breakfast and the evening meal. Very friendly and helpful staff! They couldn’t do enough for you.
The bed was very comfy!
Would stay again :)
Discovered this gem today for coffee. How we have not seen it before on our trips to Kings Lynn I don’t know!
Friendly staff, great coffee
The property is beautifully and tastefully decorated maintaining several original features. Sadly we couldn’t stay for food today but are already planning a proper visit in the summer to stay and eat, Thankyou
Stayed here whilst cycling the Rebellion Way round Norfolk. Very helpful manager found us space to keep our bikes. The room was excellent, with views of the sunset across the Great Ouse. Excellent breakfast as well.
Good location, near city centre.
All areas of the establishment were clean, including the kitchen and toilets.
Bedroom was exceptionally clean, comfortable bed.
Stayed in the Birkbeck room.
The only complaint was that the door to the bathroom was not able to close.
Great location and excellent evening meal. BlackBerry and duck entree was very nice followed by an excellent pie with a lovely gravy. And what meal wouldn't be complete without a crème brûlée, would have like a slight thicker top.
Best Hotel in King’s Lynn.
Daniel, Sam, Jack, and all the team are amazing. Perfect location. Perfect service. Food is absolutely delicious.
A delightful hotel in the heart of historic King's Lynn. A listed building, the Bank House is 5 star across the board. Clean and spacious rooms, attentive but not instrusive staff and great food for people that appreciate quality not quantity. Looking forward to me next trip at some point soon. Great for business and pleasure.
Stayed one night in the Captain's room. Very pleasant. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. You do have to pay for parking though. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a leisurely lunch here back in August 2021 and 2 years later it's in my memory so thought I should leave a review. The atmosphere was chilled they were training new staff at the time so the service was hit and miss but the maitre d', she was great supervising, training and apologising 🙂. The food was lovely we had 3 courses and wine. I would go back if I was in the area again.
One of my favourite pubs to visit even just for a beer as we did. Its just so different from the rest.
Went to bank house for anniversary. Had a fantastic roast beef dinner, the beef was cooked perfectly. Staff were friendly. The creme brulee was exactly how I like it. Thanks to all the staff and the chefs for making my day special.
Nice outdoor seating area. Excellent choice of drinks -Poretti, Estrella, Corona, local gin etc. Food was good but didn't feel like a summer menu but was told they will start up the seafood platter soon (July). Service was good, friendly and the barman seemed to know his cocktails.
We called in for lunch today. Very elegant dining room. The hotel is very close to the River Ouse. Great menu with plenty of choice for everyone. Our fish platters were 😋 delicious. Lovely serving staff.
Great place for a short break, staff excellent food excellent , location excellent, what more can I say
We went for afternoon tea, a group of 25, we had tea and coffee on tap, the selection of sandwich fingers and cakes plus scones wit jam and cream were fantastic, a very happy group,
I have some pinocchio (without chocolate) and super-duper cake here on Sunday. There is a nice old English atmosphere here with well-dressed staff and well preserved classical surroundings. So far, it's been a pleasant experience with the well-mannered staff .
