Tonight I had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had at La Ranchera!! The restaurant is cosy and colourfully decorated - very festive! The chef and wait staff are really friendly. I recommend without reservation!!

Really lovely food! Great atmosphere and delicious home made authentic Mexican food. Waitress so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in the area. We were on holiday and it came up as a top rated restaurant and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area.

Lovely, small and cosy environment with an energy that captures Mexico. The staff were absolutely wonderful and a special shout-out to the chef who seemed to work solo preparing the meals. We were able to enjoy our meal without being rushed through. If you’re looking to try some truly authentic Mexican food then here is the place.
This place is such a hidden gem that deserves more recognition - we visited here while on holiday and had the most amazing dinner. Everything we tried was just fab and so authentic and really fresh. The tequila list was massive and the margaritas were the best I’ve ever had. A lovely little spot with great staff and amazing food that I would highly recommend!
I am visiting the UK from the states, I reside in Arizona land of Mexican cuisine lol. I am staying in Kingsbridge and have been wanting Mexican food, so I googled and found this gem! It was absolutely lovely! Definitely satisfied my craving. Chef was very kind as some dishes were prepared a lil different than back home so she explained how it was made but what a flavor explosion! So, coming from an area where there are many choices of this fabulous cuisine, LA Ranchera does not disappoint and I would highly recommend, I know I will be going back😊
If you are in the South Hams area make a point of going to La Ranchera in Kings bridge. A small restaurant serving authentic Mexican food which is freshly and expertly prepared by the owner. We had some lovely cocktails to start, shared home made nachos and then had chicken fajitas, which you can have prepared to varying degrees of heat! All excellent. The food on neighbouring tables looked just as good. If you want delicious fresh food this is the place to come! The service was also brilliant. Well done all.
Humbled to have had my first true taste of authentic Mexican Food from this hidden gem, we traveled 50 minutes on advice from a trusted friend. I've eaten Mexican, cooked it, had it cooked for me, authentic is what I yearn and that is the main reason I left here so happy.
Food prepared and cooked freshly in front of you. Wonderful flavours (some ive never tasted) huge satisfying proportions, served in a warm and friendly environment. Polite and attentive staff, cool decor with A fun theme throughout. Nothing you have had can compare to this. I strongly urge anyone thinking of eating to come and start with the nachos and go from there.
You simply cannot regret or forget this experiance.
Our first visit, and certainly won't be our last. A meal for my Birthday but unfortunately two members of the family took ill last minute. Such a warm, friendly and welcoming place, immediately felt relaxed and in good company. The food was simply the best Mexican food we have ever had. And those that couldn't make it, had what they would have ordered packaged and ready to take home when we had finished. They didn't start preparing it until they could see we were almost finished. So they had it hot when we got home. I really can not wait to be able to visit again! Gracias!
We are so lucky to have such a lovely little restaurant in Kingsbridge. It is my absolute favourite. Lovely fresh food cooked from scratch while you are there - you can even see it cooked as the kitchen is partly in the restaurant area - so it takes a while to come out, but totally worth it! And make sure to try their amazing cocktails! Totally recommended.
