Lovely stay here. Really nice family room, very accommodating & great service. We were going to a wedding and needed to check in early and they had no problems with that. Delicious breakfast in the morning with complimentary tea and coffee - much needed after a late night!
There is a lovely outdoor area and a kids play area separate enough to keep the noise away but close enough for you to keep an eye out for inadvertent injury!
All in all, a very nice stay. 👍
Had a lovely breakfast here with a group and everyone was very happy with the food. I had the full English which was tasty and generous. The service was great along with friendly staff. Will be looking at attending again to try either lunch or evening meals but would definitely go for breakfast anytime I'm passing.
The gardeners is a nice popular country pub. There is a good choice of beers and lagers including several cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The theakston's bitter was excellent when we called in. It's a good place for lunch we've had some really nice meals here. The pub is nice and cozy, it has a large conservatory and really nice garden with outdoor seating area.
I have stopped here a few times for buisness and pleasure.
Great accommodation great for a stay over.
The food and friendly staff is why I come to be honest bloody lovely great choise and plenty on the plate.
Highley recommended for a night away or just to try the food.

Would highly recommend a visit to this Country Inn. Staff extremely welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, very polite, well presented Inn with plenty of character .
The food is amazing, portion size’s extremely generous, beautifully presented, and tastes amazing. Would highly recommend the cod and chips and the Chicken Kiev. You won’t be disappointed.
Stopped by twice this week for tea, the foods great and staff are lovely. Dog friendly which is a bonus. They also had a few vegan options to choose from. We’ll be back again.
An accessible pub with staff that cater to your every need!
We were staying for two days during a layover, and decided to enjoy both drinks and a meal in the pub - a stone throw from the lodges. We were greeted by two lovely waitresses who asked us where we'd like to sit, where we opted for the conservatory.
Myself and two friends ordered different meals, myself ordering the hunter's chicken and WOW. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything was done to perfection, so-much-so the bacon was EXACTLY how I like it. It was almost as if the chef had read my mind!
After we'd finished having a lovely meal, we wound down for the night and had absolutely no bother with our local lodgers and had such a great experience during our stay.
Can definitely recommend you try the hunter's chicken, it was beautiful!
The food is absolutely amazing. Great staff, dog friendly and great choice of food. Nice vegan dishes too.
Visited here over the bank hol weekend after hearing it was under new management. No complaints at all. The staff were great, the place was busy but we didn’t wait too long to be seated or served. The food was amazing, we had the beef and gammon Sunday lunch, the meat just melted in our mouth! Had a biscoff cheesecake for dessert and it was to die for!! Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
While cycling on the trans-pennine rail trail we stopped off for lunch.
Lovely friendly greeting from the staff and enjoyed a superb meal and drinks to set us up for the ride back up the rail trail. Excellent location if you’re wanting a stopover while on the trail.
