Out of the other Indian cuisine we tried in hull this was One of the best with great taste, portion and presentation of food ! A must visit spot !

We came back here after many years and enjoyed the experience. Staff are as accomodating as ever, service is quick (even on a Saturday night) and it's still a traditional yet modern Indian restaurant. My only complaint was the size of my portions of meat in my curry - I'm a fan of big chunks, not so much the thin strips.

I have been on several occasions with a small group of business owners, and the food and service is always amazing.
This is the first time I have been on a personal occasion, and it feels like the 5 star service went up a notch!
Thank you for great food and a great evening. Definitely my favourite in Hull!

Tried Bengali pride today and had it delivered to the house.
It was a good experience trying the taste of Bengal. The food was fine and abive average but I won't say it was great. Could have been better.

Service is impeccable. Staff friendly, very amicable and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious, flavourful. Generous portions, good value. Staff even educated me on the different types of curries and even recommended me to try something that wasn't on the menu but authenticatic. Food was perfectly timed from start to finish. Highly recommend.

This has always been a first class Indian restaurant - I used to live around the corner from this place in the 70s and 80s, at the time it was named Balaka from memory. Was always good then, seems no change now. Very good food, extensive selection, first class attentive and friendly staff, a reasonable bill considering the quality. Will make a point of visiting more often in the New Year.

Just been sun 5pm 12/11/23.had beautifull food with my hubby daughter and boyfriend . Attentive cheerfull waiter . Lovely meal and service . Even boxed up leftovers for us to bring home . And gave us all a free Bailey's . Can't wait to return . Thankyou .

Easily one of the best places to eat Indian cuisine in the city. Never eaten inside the restaurant but always been very impressed with the takeaways. Bit pricey but you pay for what you get here. Would definitely recommend this place.

I am really glad they got rid of that awful black window at the front so you can actually see in the place now. However, I'm not so sure about the lighting scheme. Yes it's intimate but you need a torch to read the menu and when the lights suddenly change to red it gives you a bit of a scare! The air con was a bit over zealous too and we had to move tables because we were shivering.
A good choice of different food options, expecially for a veggie. I was very excited to find a curry with banana in (I love curry with banana!) and my husband was pleased with the option of lamb. It would have been nice if the chef had some specials for veggies though. Both curries were creamy but a little bland. Mine had a generous amount of veg in but my husband's was a bit disappointing, a few bits of lamb floating about in loads of sauce.
The deserts were were those awful frozen things that come in coconut halves and have their own wipe clean menu. Very disappointing.
The staff were very plesant and clearly took pride in what they did.
They did charge for tap water though.
It was plesant enough and I would go again. I wonder though, if it is rated as highly as it is by others because there are very little other acceptable Indian resturant options in Hull?

fantastic place, staff very friendly, food was excellent. Open Sun - Fri 5.30 - 11 pm . Sat 5.30 - midnight.
We'd definately go again, ... it was made even better when, aftter they'd found out it was my partners birthday, we got a free after dnner drink

This has got to be one of the better Indian restaurants I've found in Hull, the usual dishes found in most Indian restaurants but not as bland as a lot seem to have become.
Worth a try.
