Garbutts

We went here today for a change as not been before and for lunch out as it was my little boys birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was also very nice. We particularly liked the belly pork bites and the huge panko halloumi bites. Also impressed at how well seasoned and tasty the burger from the kids menu was. Very much enjoyed what we ordered. Gave 3 for service due to arriving and having not been before wondering if we should wait to be seated/if we needed to order at the bar etc. Noone rushed to come and welcome us and as we had also reserved a table it would have been nice if we had been approached a bit sooner. There was also around a 40 minute wait for the food whilst trying to entertain two young kids, which seemed a long time when it was relatively quiet. Overall a good experience though.

The lads on the bar were friendly and pleasant. There was a wait of 45 minutes mainly I think because rugby was on. After an hour I asked were the food was. The waiter said another few minutes. But as it was we didn’t wait any longer , it was ready And to be fair it really was nice food with a twist on the mash that had bacon and cabbage in it gravy lovely I would have normally marked the score down but the food saved the day

First time trying Garbutts, my daughter and her bf decided to take me here for father's day and I have to say that the food was outstanding. One of the nicest meals I have had. I think my only whine would be there was no tagliatelle left so opted for the beef chili burrito, onions rings, and spiced chunky chips instead and wasn't disappointed, it was delicious. Followed on with a pint of Worthingtons out of a toast to my passed father in law. Spending time with my daughter and future son, it was a perfect end to a perfect father's day. 100% recommend Garbutt's and will be back again.
