Three Crowns

I came to eat with my colleagues after work and I ordered a rump steak. As I have a rare allergy, I didn’t mention it to the cashier while ordering but the salad came with the ingredient I am allergic to. I apologies and offered to buy a second main dish but Madalyn, who served us, was so kind and helpful. They redid the whole main for me and it was very tender and delicious! Thank you!

We visited for my daughters Birthday. I dropped a balloon and cake off earlier in the day. The manager was extremely friendly and ensured everything was in place for our visit later that day. We ordered our food and used a 30% off voucher which made the overall price really reasonable. The food arrived in a timely manner and was hot and cooked to perfection. The kids loved their chicken burgers and fries and the fish was amazing, very fresh and plentiful. My mum had the lasagna and said its the best one she has ever had and enjoyed every mouthful. The service was top notch, friendly staff, checked to make sure everything was OK. We ended the meal with the birthday cake I brought in, with a rendition of Happy Birthday initiated by the manager bringing the cake over. A very nice experience, I would definitely return. Only one gripe was we felt abit cold, whether that's because the eating area is near many large windows and the weather was cold, but the heating was on.

Since moving to Victoria Dock in September 2023, me and my partner were thrilled to find a cosy yet lively pub/restaurant right on our doorstep. We have had countless of visits on weekdays with friends, weekends with parents, celebrating birthdays and watching the football, every single time is faultless. Staff are all so lovely and manager makes you feel as if you’ve known him ages, just what you want in your local pub. Food is delicious and I can be quite picky! service is always top notch.

The three crowns (formally the goldcrest, the timber dock) is a marstons pub (like the red sails and the apollo) but there is no sign outside telling you, so the food menu is the same as others in the chain. There is a wide choice of beers and lagers with marstons pedigree and hobgoblin on hand pumps. There is a nice separate bar with a pool table and dart board. The Large outdoor seating area is quite attractive with a large screen TV for watching sports. The barmaid was friendly, although service was slow due to her having to serve drinks, take food orders, serve the food, clear and clean tables on her own. The food was nice but other chains are better value in my opinion. Large free car park with electric charging points.
