Hampton Court Palace Bar & Restaurant

Great place to go, unique in the fact that you are in a Royal Palace garden, Henry's back garden, the deer just amble around like a crowd at a major event, but the peace in London is amazing. Great condition, fantastic clubhouse, fabulous food with good portions and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit as somewhere to get Great all round welcome, round of golf and refreshments after.

Quite an easy course in a very nice setting which has both a parkland and links style feel. Greens are immaculate and fast (besides the 10th which is damaged), even after heavy rain for the last week. The main issue is the condition of some of the fairways, some holes are extremely bare to the point whereby you may consider playing preferred lies to ensure you play your shot from grass as opposed to playing from the dirt which was a shame. I think for £35 you would expect a much better course condition given the time of year.

I’m neither a golf player or member of the club, but I do enjoy walks in the lovely Home Park. Being quite remote and not very much within it, I was glad to discover the golf clubhouse on a detour to the perimeter of the park. The clubhouse welcomes all, including visitors to the park and has a bar with restaurant for all to use. I enjoyed a reasonably priced pint of Singha in the large outdoor seated area, which was very pleasant in the sun. Everyone was friendly too and the golfers all seemed to be having fun. I didn’t eat, but the food looked good on other peoples’ plates. I wish I’d discovered it sooner as it adds another element to my favourite park.

Course is in excellent condition, wide well kept fairways and able to play out of the trees , even in the clumpy grass I was able to play back to the fairways. The only down side were some of the bunkers were under repair and others with not enough sand . Staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful . Can't wait to return 😊👍
