A very lovely, warm and cozy pub. Quaint and traditional decor with log fires. Served by friendly staff, including the chef who came out to check on our thoughts of the food. The food is gorgeous - we had the pork chop special, lamb tagine, steak, gammon & egg, cheeseburger and ham, egg & chips between us. All was cooked to perfection and served beautifully with good portion sizes. Delicious desserts too. We are holidaying in the area but we would love to come back sometime in the future if we are nearby.
Lovely quaint pub warm and friendly with a real fire... Freshly cooked home made food 10/10 we would love to call back in on our journey back home....highly recommend!
Brilliant local. 2 small rooms. Nice beer.
What a smashing little pub this is, you don't get many like this anymore! From the outside you can very easily walk past it and not even notice it's there, it just blends in with the houses around it.
It has a bar to the left hand side and another room on the right. Both rooms are small so don't turn up with a party of 30 people! Both rooms also have lovely open fires blazing in the winter.
They've a good range of real ale for such a little pub and a great selection of whiskies too. Maureen who runs the pub is a really lovely lady, down to earth, and greets you with a smile and friendly chat, just the way I like it.
I almost feel like I don't want to leave this review for fear of giving away one of Kington's best kept secrets, but it deserves every one of it's stars. It's a cracking little place.
Fabulous pub. Really relaxing sitting outside enjoying the beer.
Very old period decor, small and friendly.
Gorgeous somewhat eccentric pub with delicious unusual beer ( guesting). We were kindly given some roast potatoes to eat with our beer as Sunday lunch had finished! Friendly locals who made us very welcome + we sat + chatted about decent beer. Highly recommended.
Such a charismatic old pub. A real gem
Very welcoming to a hot sweaty hiker on one of the hottest days of the year. Great ale too! A real old-fashioned pub exactly as they should be and a gem to find in Kington
A really lovely pub with a good selection of cask ales and a great atmosphere.
Sadly the first pint was a bit past it but they replaced it with something better.
