Always drove past this pub and eventually booked our table as a special birthday treat for lunch for my hubby as we had family visiting. The staff were so attentive, clearly recognised we were new as they fussed us so nicely without intruding on our visit. The menu was perfect for us and so seriously well priced. £8.95 for Sunday lunch! And my son was delighted to have the same food as us in a smaller portion instead of being forced to choose from a children's menu. We will certainly be back as the beef melted in your mouth, the lamb was perfectly cooked and gorgeous and the battered haddock my in laws had was enormous and delicious. Thanks ladies, I'm sure you'll be visited regularly x
We were guests at a 21st birthday party on Sunday and as I'm coeliac The Crown were asked to include something gluten free for me...I was overwhelmed at how much thought had gone in to this to ensure not only did I have choices but so many of them and all absolutely gorgeous and how much work had gone in to ensuring there was no cross contamination. Thank you to all of the staff for making me feel so normal and not the exception, and for such gorgeous food and service you are an excellent example for many other restaurants to follow.

Real old school pub, beautiful homemade food, great price, great portion sizes. Staff amazing, helpful, kind, easy to talk to. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely go back another time.
Always a joy, great banter, fantastic food,a warm welcome. Feels like visiting a friend. Highly recommend 👌
Always get great meals and friendly service 7 days a week. Had Beef and Ale pie today which is a good size and very tasty.
We had 2 beautiful meals, it was our first time visiting but definitely not the last, the staff were nice and chatty and everything/ everyone asking for something it wasn't a task 100% to all staff and chief
A very nice, family friendly place. An excellent GOOD food establishment. No loud SPORT only Televisions, and discreet background music. Always clean and tidy with wood burning fires that give that pleasant feeling. The smell of good home cooked foodmakes you want to stay for a meal. It would be best to phone and make a reservation for meals. Accepting both cash and card. Local artists do display work, which you can purchase.
There is a small parking area, a few outisde seating benches and though it would be a struggle , disabled facilities. You must remeber this is not a town facility, and will have to drive to the venue; it would be more than worth the journey.
Good food, staff were really nice! They have scissors for sauce packets and a basket for period emergencies in the female bathroom (they should do this in the male one too)
