The Mill Forge Restaurant

We got married here on the 5th Oct 23 we had an amazing day, from start to finish the day itself was perfect, even the communication with the run up to our wedding day was fantastic, any email or correspondence was dealt with immediately and efficiently, would just like to say a massive thank you to Sam and Debbie and the rest of the staff for helping us out along the way and putting us at ease.

We stayed in the small double rooms which both had a double bed and a single. Drink making facilities, small TV, iron and hairdryer. Cosy and very clean room with comfortable beds. Shower with fluffy towels and toiletries. Evening meals in the main building were tasty and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with a small selection of cereals, toast with scrambled eggs or full Scottish, all good just not a vast choice.

We got married here on the 12th October and had an amazing time. As soon as we arrived at reception we were put at ease. The room was lovely and very clean, the food was amazing and the staff were wonderful especially Paul, Ian and Struan. As it was only the two of us we had 2 of the wedding planners as our witnesses Sam and Molly who were absolutely brilliant walking us to the Chapel and taking many many photos for us. From the minute we arrived until we left 3 days later it was the perfect stay. Thank you to everyone for making it so special for us.

Great place to get married. You feel very well cared for. Timing between individual weddings allows the focus to be on you rather than rushing through . Grounds are so well thought out and offers so many great photo opportunities. The staff are all amazing, especially Ian on the bar, and Pauline. They make you feel welcome and special as if you're the only couple getting married. We had an amazing day.

Really enjoyed our stay and wedding day here. The staff could not have been more helpful in fact they were fantastic nothing was too much trouble. We wanted a very simple private ceremony with just the 2 of us and that is just what they provided. Can not thank them enough. We would definitely recommend a visit if this is what you are looking for or even bigger events.

The Mill forge is the perfect wedding venue. We had a great time with the bride and groom. The bar/restaurant had a wide selection of items. All the staff were very kind and helpful in any requests. Didn't enjoy the brekfast however, but everything else made up for that. A short drive to Gretna town which is beautiful and plenty of little shops to visit. Overall a great experience!

Visited Friday for an evening meal, and Saturday for my good friends wedding. Stunning venue, super helpful and accomodating staff! My Daughter has an eating disorder and can only eat / drink certain things, I contacted the Mill Forge a week before to discuss and they were absolutely fantastic! although they didn't sell the drinks my daughter can drink they allowed us to bring our own and store in their fridge. Thank you so much for all your help, going above and beyond and making the weekend easy for us. PS the gin selection is amazing.

What absolutely beautiful place. Was there for our best friends wedding. Stayed 2 nights. Rooms were clean and spacious. Plenty of room. Tea and Coffee making facilities. Housekeeping came every morning to ask if you needed anything. The only thing I would say to make it perfect would be either having a fan or AC for the really hot days because the two days that we were there it was roasting and the room was hot. Breakfast every morning was fabulous, tried the haggis and definitely will have again. Had dinner when we first got there and tried the Anvil Burger. What a juicy burger that was. Delicious. Staff were kind and helpful. We had Paul as our go to guy for the wedding stuff and he was brilliant really helpful. A really beautiful place The Mill Forge.
