This restaurant is fabulous. We ate here on two evenings during our trip to Orkney. Both times the food was exceptional and the service perfect. It’s also well priced. Try their gooseberry and apple treacle crumble if it’s on the specials, it’s truly fabulous.

The food was delicious, seafood Linguine, but totally overpriced for a pasta dish. Atmosphere was OK, but bustling and packed. I didn't want to spend any more time there after I finished my dinner, which is probably what they want.
The beer selection is good but again, way to expensive - 7 quid for a pint?
The place is up for sale, by the way (6/2022)

Fabulous… an expression of hospitality standards that all restaurants & cafes in Orkney need to match.
Authentic Italian cuisine & expresso.
I’m vegetarian and they have great vegetarian daily specials.
During my four day stay here, drove from stromness & dined here everyday.
It’s worth the journey 😀

I visited here whilst on a road trip for a wee bite to eat.
I just wanted a small snack so ordered a bacon & egg ciabatta which I can quite honestly say was possibly one of the best butties I've had in a long time, the bacon was perfectly cooked as was the egg which was hard and not runny, just as we had requested.
I would recommend visiting here to anyone if you are looking for something similar👍🏼

Upscale food without upscale prices. Easily the best Italian food I’ve eaten in the UK. The mozzarella focaccia is a must! And then finish with strawberry cheesecake.

Eight of us went to Lucano to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal and they also catered for my wife who is gluten intolerant. I would definitely recommend Lucano to anyone looking for authentic Italian food in Kirkwall.

Lovely service and good food. We had garlic bread and some mozzarella starters. My main was the mixed vegetables with chicken breast. And the banoffee dessert was excellent to finish.

The food was good, as well as the service. The atmosphere was nice and overall I had a great time here. They also have gluten-free pasta, which is very handy for anyone like myself who are celiac.

The rest of my family got fish, which I'm allergic to, so I looked around and found Lucano. The service was friendly, quick, and efficient. The food was fantastic. Best pizza I've ever had. Fresh, hot, and delicious.

Great sauces! Most flavorful food we had in the UK. The waitstaff is made up of pretty young kids mostly but we found that charming. If there’s no seating available there’s no list they just send you down the street to wait at a bar and then the guy comes and gets you when it’s your turn. This was also charming. This is the best place to eat in Scotland.

We ate lunch here coming on a cruise ship to town. The whole town was swamped with people, but the guy at Luciano let us in telling us there was a 15 min wait for food order. That was fine with us. We just wanted a drink and a pizza and a sandwich for my wife. When they arrived, both were excellent. Price was good to just over £23 with drinks. Would recommend going here.

Really enjoyed my steamed cod in an olive and caper sauce. This Italian restaurant has a good choice of Italian dishes as well as something to suit all the family. The service was excellent and it was a very enjoyable meal out.

We had pasta dishes - 1/2 size portions.
Both were very tasty.
Only one minor issue: some of the staff were new and are learning the ropes, but as everyone has to start somewhere, we let that go. I put it down to their nerves.
We came back the following night, as the pizza was recommended, and it didn't disappoint.

Great service from lovely, attentive, friendly staff.
Food quality was 100% Italian, carbonara cooked to perfection in the traditional Italian way.
Friendly, fun banter between staff coming from the kitchen, which is always nice to hear.
Only sad to be Leaving Orkney as I want to go back again and sample more of there menu.
Even the house wine was excellent.
If I come back to Kirkwall, Orkney I'll be going back to this restaurant for sure.
Must try a pizza as they looked amazing too.
