Friern Manor

We had our twilight wedding at Friern Manor in October 2023 and it ended up being a lovely evening and lovely event! The food was good, the resident DJ was absolutely fabulous and the venue is intimate and cozy, which is the vibe we were going for for our autumnal wedding. There were however parts of the running of the day which made us quite flustered and upset, particularly at the start.... We were greeted by a member of staff who was less than friendly and really made the running of the morning way more difficult that it needed to be. She was abrupt and not welcoming at all, even rolling her eyes at me when I was a little shocked to see a massive JOY sign outside the front of the building (which was never communicated to us, despite visiting the venue 6 days before to sort some sort of order out). I understand that friern manor is more than just a wedding venue and hosts Christmas parties but, you wouldn't expect to see very large Christmas decor plastered outside the front of the venue before even Halloween had been and gone..! Thank god our photographer is a genius and could edit this out! Even our photographer was shocked it was there and how garish it was and was also stunned that they hadn't communicated this with us prior, especially as we've paid a really good amount of money for the venue - we all felt (bridesmaids and our families) that we were sold something we didn't get in regards to bits of the venue. This particular member of staff made me feel quite upset the morning of the wedding so I was pleased when we were handed over to our evening staff member, Kai, who was absolutely incredible! I cannot rate Kai enough - he really made our night and was so incredible. My husband and I cannot thank him, in particular, enough! If Kai wasn't part of our day we would have felt let down. The bedrooms for getting ready in are also incredibly dated which is a shame but, functional all the same. Overall, our wedding was absolutely brilliant and everybody had such a good time but the morning of the wedding was hectic and stressful, made worse by a less than helpful member of staff.

I recently had my wedding at Friern Manor. The whole day was perfect from start to finish. The staff were so professional and were the reason the day ran so smoothly. The food was amazing and the service of the food was perfect. The rooms are lovely, and nothing was too much to ask for the staff. We had endless compliments about the venue, the food and the day as a whole which is great! Charis was so helpful from the moment we booked our wedding at Friern. Jordan - our event manager on the day was so accommodating. The gardens and grounds were lovely and the weather was amazing, meaning that people could spend a lot of time outside and commented on how well kept and lovely the gardens were. My self and my partner visited this location and immediately knew that this was the venue for us! The grounds were amazing and the whole set up of how they told us our day would run was perfect for us. On the day, the staff were amazing! They looked after us and our guests and ensured that everything ran as smoothly as possible. The wedding coordinators on the day were amazing! When one finished for the day and passed over to another for the evening was extremely smooth and they could not do enough for us! All the quests loved the venue and all said how beautiful it was! The silver service waiters/waitresses were incredible! They really done all they could to make the day special and any request we had for them they were happy to help. Can not recommend this venue enough! Thank you to everyone at Friern Manor for making our day so special

We had our wedding Reception at Friern Manor on the 3rd June and could not fault the on the day service. The food was outstanding and we had many happy guests. The members of staff could not do enough for us. The location and venue is perfect for an intimate wedding feel whilst maintaining enough places for diverse picture opportunities. As a development point, there were a couple of things that were not communicated internally by the wedding coordinators that lead to extra stresses before the big day. Apart from this, we were very happy. Thank you all again!

I got married at this hotel 2 days ago. Honestly it was amazing!! From the minute we saw the venue we knew we wanted to get married here. In the run up to the wedding, the communication was great. The food tasting event was such a brilliant idea and helped us pick our food for the wedding. On the day of the wedding as soon as myself and the bridesmaids arrived the staff rushed out to greet us and carry our bags and were on hand the whole time if we needed anything. All my guests said the food was absolutely amazing. We had the Twilight package which included a buffet but we added a burger cart, Thai food cart and ice cream cart so there was so much choice. My guests also commented on how lovely the venue was. The best thing for me personally was the staff, nothing was too much trouble. There was a lovely gentleman who met us on arrival carried our bags, he was then on the burger cart ans served us breakfast the next morning. Don't know his name but he is very good at his job. The only regret I have is that I didn't try half the food as I was too caught up in the buzz of the day and I wish I had got to try it all. All in all best day of my life and definitely choose this venue for a wedding, you won't be disappointed.
