Stumbled on this place, when out looking for food, staff were very friendly and the setting was very smart and cosy. The food was very nice, I had the haddock mornay with creamed cabbage and bacon, which was very rich but beautiful. The wife had the steak which was a little over cook and had too much pepper for my wife, but was still nice. Overall I would definitely recommend eating here If your passing by. Followed by a nice stroll along the promenade.

Visited with my family...had a great breakfast...service was excellent...came back for tea...meal was great...and back again for tea tonight...spicy wing starters are really spicy...all in all had an excellent meal on each visit...staff are very polite and service is top notch...

Had lunch with a couple of friends. The food was really good and the service was excellent. The cafe has nice decor and has a modern feel to it as well as being bright and airy also. Only downside that loses it a 5 star rating is that our food took a long time to arrive even though the cafe wasn't full. I wouldn't write it off on that though as we may have had a one-off, slow food experience. I would definitely visit again to allow them the chance of a 5 star rating next time.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Food was great and freshly made. I had the scampi which was lovely as were the home made chips and mum had the haggis, neeps and tatties which she enjoyed. It was great for us as mum was in a wheelchair and there was a ramp up to the entrance and as it's dog friendly we could also take her wee dog in which was a major bonus. Will definitely be back if we're in the area again.

Very enjoyable meal. Husband had a chicken burger which was tasty with really good chips. I had an omelette, again tasty with a nice salad. The staff were lovely and coffee was good if a little on the strong side for drinking on its own.

November 19, 2018 we celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a family dinner at The Bean & Leaf. Every dish served was delicious, hot and well presented. The staff were very friendly and polite. Big selection of home baking - difficulty in choosing one so we shared several. We will definitely be regular customers from now on.

Lovely place. Had the breakfast which I really enjoyed - apart from mushrooms being peppered before serving - don't like pepper. Please leave this up to customer choice. That said it was still nice & great friendly service.

Would have been 5 stars if they hadn't forgot about us and it wasn't that busy. Eventually had to go to bar to order our food. Otherwise lovely food and pleasant staff. Would still recommend

Lovely restaurant and staff lovely. Cheese and onion toastie was really nice without being at all greasy. Hubby's baked potatoe with prawn marie sauce was equally delicious both dishes very nicely presented. Would highly reccommend

What a great Cafe, popped in today and had a coffee☕ and apple strudel 🍏 with their award winning vegan ice cream 🍦 (i'm not vegan and it was one of the nicest i've had, i dare anyone to not like it). WOW, Delicious. Just a really nice place, with lovely staff and superb food.

My wife and I had a brilliant night at the Bean & Leaf last Saturday (25/1/14). The Restaurant has a cosy feeling with a feature fire in the wall at one end and decor is modern with tables well laid out. The biggest surprise was being offered a "Wine & Dine Menu" of 2-courses and a bottle of wine per couple for £29! Amazing value given the high standard of service and excellent well-presented tasty food. Apparently this 'special menu' changes weekly and is available on a Friday/Saturday evening (Winter). As it was "Burns Night" there was an obvious 'haggis' theme! My better-half had the special haggis and mash starter while I went for a warm goats cheese salad. We both opted for the chicken main course which was excellent. You can choose either a starter or a dessert as part of the 2-course special. The bottle of white we received as part of the deal complimneted our meal well. Our first visit - but certainly not our last!

Long overdue visit to my cousin and her husbands cafe. Food was delicious, staff were rushed off their feet(very busy)but still delivered a fab service and my little one had the tastiest Mac cheese. Defo recommend this being a stopping point when visiting Largs

I had a traditional pea and ham soup that my granny might have made, big chunks of ham, rich pea broth and served with a slab of Tiger bread. Utterly perfect.
I followed this with the best salad I've ever been served in a restaurant. Huge plate full of win. Perfectly balanced with the right amount of parmsan and salad dressing. The king prawns were sweet and juicy.
Overwhelmed by this little gem of a restaurant.
