The Sunday Roast was delicious and very generous portions. When the staff check back on you, they offer you more yorkies and roast potatoes! The service was great! We were greeted immune by Eve, and she served us, got us drinks asap. Also, they're dog friendly. Highly recommend it for an amazing and
We are big fans of the Peach Pubs group having previously eaten a few times at both The Town House and The One Elm, often on special occasions, as was this one. We did feel that The Star and Garter did not quite match up to their sister pubs in terms of the personal service. Although we had said it
Lovely pub for a sunday roast. My family really enjoyed the Lamb pavé. The stuffing was delicious. Extra point for the possibility to have more Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes! Very nice touch. I was a bit disappointed with the shallots tatin , the pastry could have been more cooked/crispy. The
Very pleasant evening with ex-work colleagues. Great food and service.
Perfect Sunday roast here today! The service was impeccable. Great meat and veggie option - food was delicious! Love that you get a jug of gravy and extra yorkies/spuds. The wine and the apple crumble were also exceptional.
Plenty of seating outside with partitioning around from pavement. Outside service no problem !! with people round regularly checking on you . Also outside heaters. Not to busy. Went back last night (April 2023) not been in for ages . Still very popular a lot of people taking their dogs in with them
Nice welcome, excellent knowledgeable and quick service. Great selection. Love how they bring the 'specials board' to your table. Lovely food. Overall a really nice friendly place, with great food, drinks and service.
Great staff and a very good Sunday roast. Good menu. Efficient and very friendly service. Highly recommended!
This is one of my locals. I often meet people there for lunch and I've even eaten there by myself when I Just Can't Be Bothered to cook. Staff always welcoming. Food good. Lovely place.
Loved this place! Went here for a Sunday lunch and it was brilliant. Really tasty comfort food at a decent price. The Sunday roast was great and the black pudding scotch egg (pictured) was a thing of beauty! 🤤 All the staff were really friendly despite running around as it was so busy. Would definit
Service was very good, staff were polite and fast! The food was very nice and not too badly priced! Good selection of drinks on tap and they pour a decent Guinness.
This is an absolutely beautiful place, the service is second to none. 4 of us ate and to say there wasn't a crumb left is being silly but so true. You gotta try the cauliflower chips, they are to due for 😁😁😁 From the moment you walk in this place, you are greeted like a local whose place has his/her
My wife & I called in tonight as I’ve always fancied it & we were in the town. The staff were lovely, and the food was lovely too. Very spacious seating area & nice toilets. Will most definitely call in again.
Great pub for food. Has a great cozy feel. I have been going here for food and drink for about 5 years on and off and it is consistently good. They have a nice open bar dining area with a large kitchen window. The menu is English pub food/gastro pub. Lots of classics, burgers, fish and chips, steaks
A table of 5 (colleagues) went on a Wednesday evening. Food was amazing. We had belly pork, chicken schnitzel and burger. Food amazing although pricey. Service was spot on. A large glass of wine £12.50 which I think is way too expensive!
We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday party at the Star and Garter and couldn't have been happier. They set up a long table for us in the back of the restaurant to fit our group of 20. There was plenty of space, the food was great and everyone had a fabulous time. Special shout out to the fantast
Lovely friendly place, great service. Some dishes were perfect but the vegetable Wellingtons were very overcooked, the Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were also overcooked. Shame had always heard great things about the Sunday lunches.
Dog friendly, superb Sunday lunch. As well as the Sunday Roasts, we had the anchovies with gremolata as a starter which was delicious and one of the small desserts: a smidgen of Finn, a wonderful British cheese with a tea.
