Turtle Bay

Part 2: Millie’s & Joe’s service was excellent. Even the one at reception. He was friendly and hospitable . Millie was polite , quick. Joe offered for photograph. Checked if everything is good. Visited again for the jackfruit curry rice. Virgin colada could be better. Sweet potato fries and callaloo were great Part 1: Loved the jackfruit curry with rice. Would definitely visit here Again for the same . It had right amount of spices, rice served with boiled beans was also perfect. They had 1+1 drinks offer. Options for cocktails were good, we tried passion rum punch , berry , regga , dessert island but everything had a lot of sugar syrup making the drink very sweet. Prosecco shots were good. Corn fritters felt good initially with one bite. I see most people in my table wasting that because it was too oily and a big lump fried instead of small batches. Service was good but very slow. My colleague had to wait more than 45 minutes for his burger and set potato fries. Even I waited so ping for the bill . They even rushed us to order starters and main course together, still there was a lot of delay. Hygiene was poor: Ladies washroom was under maintenance . So we were asked to use the washroom for disabled . It was disgustingly messy . Good thing is they have bottomless brunches and shared platters. Will try next time.

We went for a mid week team meal, so quite early evening, about 7pm. When we arrived after ten mins no one had said “hi, welcome” so we just sat down, found some menus etc. After looking at it for a bit went up to the bar, and someone finally came over but then seemed bothered we’d sat down ourselves. So we finally ordered, it was still happy hour so went for some cocktails. The service felt really flat. It wasn’t that busy so felt really off. We were excited to have a nice meal. Cocktails arrived all good, nice and tasty/thirst quenching. Food took a while but was worth the wait, reassuringly spicy but equally tasty. The fish fry especially. Plenty of extra condiments on the table too to add that extra zing if you need it (we tried them all!). I dunno, I just feel weird after the experience, all the service just felt so flat, they missed a trick not being so welcoming & warm.

We did our first ever bottomless brunch and my word, we weren’t disappointed! The place was nice and clean and the team very happy to serve, were helpful and friendly. We managed quite a lot of cocktails, with which we had one free brunch item each. The portion wasn’t large by any stretch of imagination but having paid £32 each for unlimited drinks we didn’t stress. Next time we will eat first! Am already booked to go back in May!!
